Applicants can expect a collaborative, academically oriented environment focused on ethical, patient-centered care.Role Description The Senior Resident role is a full-time, on-site position based at AIMS in Kochi. The Senior Resident is responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management under the supervision of senior consultants. Daily responsibilities include conducting ward rounds, managing inpatients and outpatients, ordering and interpreting investigations, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. The role also involves participation in academic activities such as teaching junior residents and students, attending departmental meetings, and contributing to clinical audits and research projects. Senior Residents are expected to maintain accurate medical records, follow institutional protocols, and support quality and safety initiatives within the department.Qualifications Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and completed postgraduate training (MD/MS or equivalent) in the relevant specialty from an accredited institution.Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council and eligibility to practice in India.Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills, with the ability to work in high-volume, multidisciplinary hospital settings.Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and participation in teaching, academic activities, and research initiatives.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams; ability to document clearly and accurately.Demonstrated professionalism, ethical conduct, and adherence to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.Willingness to work in shifts, including emergency and on-call duties, and to adapt to the needs of a teaching and research-based institution.Prior experience as a Resident or Senior Resident in a tertiary care or teaching hospital is an advantage.
