The hospital is committed to delivering dedicated, compassionate, and affordable patient care without compromise, with a strong focus on ethical practice and service above self.Role Description The Senior Resident General Surgery role is a full-time, on-site position based at KANISHK Surgical & Super Specialty Hospital in Dehradun. The Senior Resident will manage and treat patients requiring general surgical care, including pre-operative evaluation, operative procedures, and post-operative monitoring and follow-up. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting ward rounds, assessing emergency and elective surgical cases, assisting and independently performing general and laparoscopic surgeries as per credentials, and coordinating patient management with multidisciplinary teams. The role involves participation in case discussions, academic activities, seminars, and live surgery workshops, as well as maintaining accurate medical records and adherence to hospital protocols and NABH standards. The Senior Resident is expected to contribute to high-quality patient outcomes, provide clear communication to patients and families, and support a culture of safety, ethics, and continuous improvement.QualificationsRecognized medical degree (MBBS) with completed internship and a postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (MS or equivalent), along with valid registration with the appropriate medical council.Demonstrated clinical competence in general surgery, including assessment of surgical patients, perioperative care, and management of common emergency and elective surgical conditions.Experience or training in laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures, with willingness to further develop skills in advanced techniques in line with hospital practice.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, including close collaboration with Gastroenterologist, anesthesiology, critical care, radiology, oncology, and other specialties.Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and colleagues, including clear documentation, consent processes, and patient education.Commitment to evidence-based practice, infection control, patient safety, and adherence to NABH and hospital clinical protocols.
