With global recognition, including listing among 20 International Medical Schools by ECFMG, KMC attracts learners from over 45 countries and offers broad exposure to diverse patient populations and medical practices.Role Description The Senior Resident in Anesthesiology is a full-time, on-site position based at Kasturba Medical College and its affiliated hospitals in Mangaluru. The role involves providing perioperative anesthetic care, including pre-anesthesia assessment, intraoperative management, and post-anesthesia monitoring in operating theaters and procedural areas. Daily responsibilities include managing emergency and elective cases, assisting in pain management services, supervising and mentoring junior residents and students, and collaborating closely with surgical, critical care, and nursing teams. The Senior Resident is expected to participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and morbidity and mortality meetings, and to follow institutional protocols and national guidelines for patient safety and quality of care. The role may also include involvement in academic activities such as teaching sessions, clinical audits, and participation in departmental research initiatives.Qualifications Completed MD/DNB in Anesthesiology from a recognized institution; valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.Demonstrated clinical competence in general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care, including perioperative assessment and post-operative pain management.Experience in managing emergency and critical care cases, including airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and resuscitation in high-acuity settings.Ability to supervise, guide, and support junior residents and trainees, with strong teaching and clinical mentoring skills.Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records, adhering to evidence-based protocols, and participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with multidisciplinary clinical staff and for respectful, clear interactions with patients and families.Commitment to ethical medical practice, patient safety, and continuous professional development, including participation in academic activities and departmental learning programs.Prior experience as a Senior Resident or equivalent role in Anest
