Job Title: Senior Risk Analyst

Department: RiskReports to: Director, Portfolio Risk

Location: San Francisco, CA or Canton, MAPurpose: This function is responsible for managing business risks of CAI International's global leasing activities, with primary focus on credit risk management, collections and default actions, KYC compliance and insurance oversight.

The position will support the risk team’s daily processes and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Contribute to the team’s efforts to identify, evaluate, plan, and execute strategies to manage risk, working in conjunction with colleagues and other functional groups to support profitable growth.Support credit risk processes including evaluation of new lease credit lines, application approval process and periodic credit line and risk rating reviews.Provide credit recommendations to manage appropriate risk tolerances with consideration of developments in the industry’s risk environment.Contribute to operational processing of Know Your Customer (KYC) and sanction compliance, including evaluation of updates to customer’s corporate profiles.Support team’s operational processes including routine transactional decisions and active collections of delinquent accounts.Contribute to default resolution and recovery efforts in coordination with other functions (legal, marketing and management team).Support Risk team’s compliance with corporate policies and reporting requirementsMaintain department policies, operating procedures, and key metrics; support audit needs as applicable.Under the direction of management, lead projects related to process enhancements, risk evaluations or other initiatives.Other tasks as assigned.Preferred Qualifications and Skills:Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance,Business Management, Mathematics or related field required.Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, ideally in an asset financing environment.Experience in credit risk underwriting and familiarity with broader credit function processes and controls.Ability to maintain strong working relationships across a diverse organization.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across functions to support group goals and effective ongoing operations.Driven, proactive and resourceful.Experience with shipping or transportation industry or leasing preferred.CAI International, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
