Senior Risk and Governance Functional Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk and Governance Functional Consultant to support the design, implementation, and enhancement of risk management, governance, controls, and compliance processes.The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Technology teams to understand business needs, identify risks and control gaps, translate requirements into functional solutions, and support implementation and continuous process improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesGather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements related to risk, governance, controls, and compliance.Work with stakeholders to identify business risks, control gaps, process weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, user stories, and solution requirements.Support the design and implementation of risk management, governance, policies, processes, and control frameworks.Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments for changes to business processes, systems, policies, and regulatory requirements.Facilitate workshops with Business, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Technology stakeholders.Prepare and maintain BRDs, Functional Specifications, process documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirement traceability.Define and validate risk and control requirements across business processes and technology solutions.Support system implementation, configuration, testing, UAT, deployment, and post-implementation activities from a functional perspective.Prepare UAT scenarios and test cases, coordinate execution, manage defects, and support business sign-off.Identify opportunities to improve risk monitoring, control effectiveness, governance processes, and management reporting.Support the development of risk dashboards, governance metrics, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and management reports.Support risk assessments, audit activities, remediation tracking, regulatory initiatives, and compliance-related projects.Ensure appropriate documentation and traceability of requirements, controls, decisions, risks, issues, and approvals.Provide functional guidance and work with technology teams to ensure solutions align with business and risk requirements.Manage stakeholder expectations and contribute to successful delivery throughout the project lifecycle.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong experience in Risk Management, Governance, Risk & Controls, GRC, or Compliance-related functions.Strong understanding of risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, controls, and reporting.Proven experience in business and functional requirements gathering and translating requirements into functional solutions.Strong experience in process mapping, gap analysis, business process improvement, and functional documentation.Experience working with Business, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Technology stakeholders.Hands-on experience with UAT, test planning, defect management, implementation, and business sign-off.Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and requirement traceability documents.Understanding of risk and control frameworks, governance processes, and regulatory/compliance requirements.Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to translate complex business and risk requirements into practical solutions.Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a project or transformation environment.WHAT’S ON OFFER: You will be remunerated with an excellent base salary and entitled to attractive company benefits.
