Industry: Facilities ManagementJob Title: Senior Road and Street Lighting Electrical EngineerPosition Reports to: Senior Operations ManagerLocation: Al Ula, Madinah Province, Saudi ArabiaSUMMARY: Senior Road and Street Lighting Electrical Engineer will work within the Facility Management Agent environment of Al Ula City Public Works, leading a team of engineers and overseeing the planning, inspection, and auditing of electrical systems.This role involves managing third-party oversight, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safety standards, and maintaining the integrity of public works, utilities, and additional electrical systems within Al Ula City.PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage contractors responsible for civil works interfaces, road electrical infrastructure, and street lighting systems, providing technical guidance to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery.Oversee the planning, design review, installation, testing, operation, and maintenance of road electrical assets, including street lighting, feeder pillars, cabling, control panels, earthing, protection systems, and associated civil works interfaces.Manage contractors and third-party service providers undertaking road electrical and lighting works, ensuring deliverables meet contractual requirements, approved designs, method statements, inspection test plans, and applicable regulatory obligations.Conduct routine inspections, audits, and condition assessments of street lighting and road electrical infrastructure to verify safety, workmanship, asset integrity, performance, and compliance with statutory requirements and public works standards.Develop and implement maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance schedules, emergency response procedures, and rectification plans for road lighting networks and associated electrical infrastructure to support reliable public realm operations.Ensure all road electrical infrastructure and street lighting works comply with applicable Saudi public works requirements, municipal regulations, Saudi Road Code / Highway Code provisions, utility authority requirements, safety regulations, and approved project specifications.Prepare and present technical, operational, compliance, and performance reports covering road electrical assets, street lighting condition, defects, corrective actions, contractor performance, and regulatory compliance status.Provide expert technical support in troubleshooting road electrical faults, lighting failures, cable damage, control system issues, and interface constraints between electrical installations and civil works.Promote continuous improvement, energy efficiency, safe work practices, and knowledge sharing in the management of public road lighting and electrical infrastructure.EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Extensive technical knowledge in electrical systems, public works, and utilities.Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 10 years of experience in road construction and electrical lightings in public roads, including operation and maintenance.Experience in third-party oversight, planning, inspection, and auditing of electrical systems.Proven track record as a technical lead, with successful project outcomes.Experience in large-scale master planned developments and multi-sector interface projects.SKILLS/ABILITIES:Strong project management skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Strong operational planning and problem-solving skills.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work under pressure.All interested applicants can also email their CVs to careers.escl@dhowsolutions.com with a subject line of “Senior Road and Street Lighting Electrical Engineer” mentioning their availability.
