Senior Robotics Software EngineerAbout us A rapidly growing robotics company developing general-purpose mobile manipulation systems for logistics, retail, and manufacturing. Its robots are deployed across applications including trailer unloading, palletizing, depalletizing, and machine tending. We are working across behavioral planning, perception, controls, and robotic learning, where we are aiming to grow a team dedicated to high impact and significant technical ownership across robotics architecture. This is a highly hands-on role where your software will run on physical robots and directly impact task success, cycle time, reliability, and customer deployment.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement robot behavior, task sequencing, state machines, and recovery logic for complex manipulation workflows.Develop mechanisms for detecting failures and returning the robot to a known, recoverable state without operator intervention.Improve task success rate, throughput, and cycle time across production applications.Build logging, telemetry, replay, simulation, and regression tooling to diagnose difficult field failures.Debug issues across perception, planning, controls, and hardware/software interfaces, taking failures from telemetry through root cause and resolution.Integrate new capabilities from planning, perception, controls, and learned policies into robust production behaviors.Develop deterministic safeguards around learned components to ensure predictable operation in customer environments.Contribute to architecture, testing, deployment, and reliability improvements across the autonomy stack.Requirements2-5+ years of professional robotics software experience, including deployment on physical robots.Strong C++ and Python development skills within complex production codebases.Experience owning features end-to-end from architecture and implementation through testing and deployment.Strong debugging skills across software components using logs, telemetry, and system-level diagnostics.Solid understanding of robot kinematics, spatial transforms, coordinate frames, and 3D geometry.Experience with behavior trees, task planners, state machines, or robot sequencing frameworks.Additional depth in at least one area of motion planning, perception, controls, or robot learning.Experience with ROS 2 and production robotics deployment.Warehouse, logistics, industrial automation, or mobile manipulation experience.Experience building replay, telemetry, simulation, or regression infrastructure.Experience deploying learned policies or ML components behind deterministic safety and reliability mechanisms.Familiarity with production autonomy systems and cross-functional hardware/software integration.Comfortable operating with broad ownership in a fast-moving robotics environment.
