Salesforce is a mission-critical system of record supporting member, producer, enrollment, billing, support, and downstream data workflows.This role requires strong engineering depth in Apex and the Salesforce platform, plus the ability to improve data quality and simplify the underlying schema. The engineer will work with the Lead Software Engineer, OSHXpress Engineering, Project Management, IT leadership, and business stakeholders, and must communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.Areas of Accountability / Main Activities/ Expected Results:Area No. 1: Salesforce Engineering, Data and DeliveryMain Activities:Design, develop, test, and support scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL/SOSL, and platform configuration, with strong bulk-safe and governor-aware design.Own and improve the Salesforce data model, including objects, fields, relationships, record types, validation rules, automation, and core definitions supporting membership, producer, enrollment, billing, and related processes.Perform disciplined data cleanup and remediation: identify duplicates, inconsistent values, orphaned records, obsolete fields, and legacy schema; plan safe deduplication, merge, migration, archival, validation, and reconciliation steps before production changes.Use SOQL, Data Loader, APIs, and appropriate data tools to diagnose data issues and implement repeatable corrections while protecting referential integrity and business rules.Design and maintain resilient integrations using REST/JSON, OAuth2.0, Named Credentials, Platform Events, webhooks, and related patterns across Salesforce, OSHXpress, and external systems.Use Salesforce CLI/SFDX, Git-based source control, pull requests, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD practices to provide controlled, traceable, and recoverable releases.Write effective Apex unit tests and targeted integration/UAT validation; maintain clear technical documentation, deployment notes, and production verification steps.Work within OneShareHealth's simplified two-week sprint model, providing realistic estimates, surfacing dependencies and risks, and delivering changes in small, supportable increments.Area No. 2: Platform Ownership, Reliability and CollaborationMain Activities:Treat Salesforce as a mission-critical platform by prioritizing reliability, performance, recoverability, and data integrity alongside feature delivery.Reduce technical debt by simplifying legacy automation, unused fields, outdated customizations, redundant logic, and inconsistent design patterns while preserving business continuity.Monitor governor limits, asynchronous processing, API consumption, integration failures, jobs, and platform alerts; participate in incident response and root-cause correction when needed.Strengthen platform security through least-privilege access, permission-set and sharing design, CRUD/FLS enforcement, auditability, and responsible handling of sensitive member and financial data.Partner with the Lead Software Engineer on architecture and governance, including decisions about configuration versus code, data ownership, integration patterns, deployment controls, and long-term platform direction.Collaborate with OSHXpress Engineering, Project Management, reporting/data resources, and business stakeholders so Salesforce schema changes and system-of-record decisions remain consistent with downstream applications and reporting.Participate directly in technical discussions with department leaders and senior executives, explaining feasibility, data-quality concerns, architecture, risk, and tradeoffs clearly and constructively challenging unnecessary customization.Help evolve Salesforce for OneShareHealth's five-year growth strategy by improving scalability, data governance, documentation, integration reliability, and support for new business and distribution channels.Education / Certification(s) / Experience / Skills(s)Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development in production environments.Advanced Apex skills, including triggers, services, asynchronous processing, bulkification, transaction boundaries, governor limits, test architecture, and maintainable design patterns.Strong Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL/SOSL, data modeling, and Salesforce platform configuration skills.Demonstrated experience cleaning and restructuring Salesforce data and schema, including duplicate resolution, field/object rationalization, data migration, validation, and reconciliation.Experience with REST APIs, OAuth, Named Credentials, event-driven integrations, Salesforce CLI/SFDX, Git, CI/CD, and controlled deployment practices.Strong understanding of Salesforce security, permission sets, sharing, CRUD/FLS, and platform governance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence discussing technical recommendations and risks with business stakeholders and senior leadership.Preferred / Plus QualificationsSalesforce Platform Developer I certification required; Platform Developer II, Data Architect, Sharing and Visibility Architect, or other architect-track certifications preferred.Knowledge of Health Care Sharing Ministries or the healthcare sharing industry.Experience with healthcare, insurance, membership, enrollment, billing, producer, or member-service workflows.Experience modernizing a mature Salesforce org with technical debt, data-quality issues, legacy automation, or permission-model complexity.Experience integrating Salesforce with custom web applications, analytics platforms, or enterprise reporting environments.
