Location: Dubai HQEmployment Type: PermanentTarget Start Date: ASAPJob Summary: We are seeking a Senior SAP ABAP and CPI Consultant with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in ABAP development and SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), and a strong understanding of SAP’s Clean Core principles. This role will focus on streamlining integrations, standardizing programs, and ensuring optimal performance in our newly migrated RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2023 environment.

Job Responsibilities

1- SAP ABAP Development:Develop, enhance, and maintain ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, forms (Smartforms/Adobe), and enhancements.Review existing ABAP code to ensure alignment with SAP’s Clean Core principles, identify optimization opportunities, and implement best practices.Perform ABAP code optimization and refactoring for performance improvements and maintainability.Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver high-quality technical solutions.2- SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration):Design, develop, and maintain CPI iFlows to replace legacy PI/PO integrations as part of the transformation.Migrate and optimize existing interfaces to SAP CPI using best practices and leveraging SAP’s prepackaged content where applicable.Monitor and troubleshoot CPI integration scenarios to ensure smooth data flow and minimal disruptions.Work on API-based integrations, leveraging SAP API Management and BTP capabilities.3-Transformation & Clean Core Alignment:Analyze custom ABAP developments and interfaces to identify opportunities for standardization, simplification, or retirement.Support the transformation project by proactively proposing solutions that align with SAP’s Clean Core strategy and minimize technical debt.Maintain custom developments in alignment with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) concepts and extensions.Manage and monitor SAP system performance, availability, utilization, and uptime.Handle routine maintenance tasks including backups, client copies, patching, kernel upgrades, and support package application.Proactively monitor system health using SAP tools (e.g., Solution Manager, EarlyWatch).Manage system start-up/shutdown, job scheduling, system refreshes, and database administration.Work closely with hosting partners (if applicable) for SAP Cloud infrastructure management.4- Day-to-Day Support:Provide technical support for ABAP and CPI-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless business operations.Collaborate closely with the functional teams to resolve any technical bottlenecks or integration issues.Perform root cause analysis and provide permanent solutions for recurring issues.5- Collaboration & Documentation:Collaborate with Basis, Security, and Functional teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to project timelines.Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developments, interfaces, and enhancements.Support knowledge transfer and handover activities to internal teams as needed.Qualifications & Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.SAP certifications in ABAP and/or SAP Integration Suite / CPI.Minimum of 10 years of SAP ABAP development experience across different modules (SD, MM, FI, PS, CS, HR etc.).Proven expertise in SAP CPI / SAP BTP Integration Suite.Hands-on experience with API Management, ODATA services, REST/SOAP integrations.Strong understanding of SAP Clean Core principles and extensibility using BTP.Deep knowledge of performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting.Experience in system migrations and transformation projects in SAP environments.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication skills to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.Required Expertise:Experience with Fiori/UI5 development and extensibility.Knowledge of modern development frameworks and DevOps (e.g., Git, CI/CD, ATC).Familiarity with SAP Event Mesh or similar messaging solutions.Experience with S/4HANA cloud-based landscapes and BTP extension architecture.Good to Have SkillsSAP Basis knowledge (system administration, transport management, performance monitoring and troubleshooting).SAP Security knowledge (roles and authorizations, PFCG, and user administration).Use of AI tools for programming and automation (e.g., SAP Joule, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to speed up development, code review, testing and documentation.Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs).
