Senior SAP Consultant - BTP

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Developer specializing in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to join our Software Engineering team on a large-scale SAP Finance Modernization project for a global integrated energy organization spanning exploration, production, refining, and marketing. As a Senior Consultant, you will design, build, and support SAP BTP applications and extensions, while acting as a subject matter expert and technical mentor within the delivery team.Key Responsibilities:SAP BTP Application DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain custom applications and extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).Configure and support packaged/SaaS applications using standard tools, APIs, and low-code platforms to align technical solutions with evolving business needs.Take ownership of specific application configurations and ensure alignment with evolving business and technical requirements.Develop side-by-side extensions, integrations, and custom applications leveraging SAP BTP services (e.g., SAP Build, CAP, Integration Suite).SAP Project System (PS) Support (Recommended)Support configuration and enhancement activities related to SAP Project System (PS) where applicable to the finance modernization scope.Contribute to integration between SAP PS and broader S/4HANA/BTP landscape components.Solution Design & OwnershipAnalyze complex technical issues and contribute to the design of effective, scalable solutions that enhance system stability and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence delivery approaches and improve overall project outcomes.Prepare and maintain technical specifications, architecture documentation, and development standards.Support integration between SAP BTP applications and core S/4HANA modules, ensuring seamless data flow and performance.Team Leadership & CollaborationAct as a subject matter expert (SME) for SAP BTP application development, providing technical guidance and best practices to the wider team.Support and guide less experienced colleagues by sharing expertise and best practices in application development and support.Take responsibility for team-level technical decisions and contribute to key architecture and design discussions.Engage with multiple cross-functional teams, contributing to key project and delivery decisions.Continuous Improvement & QualityContinuously evaluate and recommend improvements to processes and tools to elevate quality standards within the team.Support release management, testing, and deployment activities across development, testing, and production environments.Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause analysis to maintain application stability and reliability.Required Skills & ExperienceMandatoryAdvanced hands-on experience in SAP BTP Application Development (minimum 5-8 years overall SAP development experience).Strong experience with SAP BTP services — SAP Build, CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), SAP Integration Suite, or equivalent.Experience with API-based integration, low-code/pro-code development, and cloud-native application design.Solid understanding of S/4HANA architecture and integration points with BTP-based extensions.Experience supporting enterprise SAP environments in a production support or full-cycle project delivery capacity.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and solution design skills.Preferred Technical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in SAP Project System (PS) configuration and support.Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development.Familiarity with SAP BTP security, identity, and access management concepts.Understanding of financial reporting transformation projects (e.g., MFRS/IFRS standards) is a plus.Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD practices within SAP BTP environments.Business & Soft SkillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to mentor team members and drive technical best practices.Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.Collaborative approach to working across cross-functional and distributed teams.Why Join Us?Work on a strategic, large-scale SAP Finance transformation program.Gain exposure to enterprise-scale application development on SAP's latest cloud platform (BTP).Collaborate with experienced SAP functional and technical teams.Long-term engagement with strong career growth opportunities.
