Our comprehensive portfolio—including cement, aggregates, fly ash, ready-mix concrete, and specialty admixtures—serves diverse customer needs across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure markets.We have an excellent opportunity within our Senior SAP FI/CO Business Analyst department in Norfolk, VA.Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior SAP FI/CO Business Analyst to partner with Finance and Accounting leadership to drive the transformation of our financial processes through better use of SAP capabilities, automation, and standardization.This role will focus on analyzing current finance and accounting processes, identifying automation opportunities, and designing scalable solutions within SAP FI/CO to reduce manual work, improve controls, and enable faster and more reliable financial reporting.The ideal candidate combines deep SAP FI/CO expertise with strong knowledge of world-class finance and accounting processes and a passion for improving how finance organizations operate.This position will report under the IT organization and will act as a bridge between Finance and IT, ensuring that SAP functionality is fully leveraged to support an efficient, automated, and well-controlled finance environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance Process TransformationAnalyze existing finance and accounting processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate activities.Lead initiatives to reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets and offline processes by leveraging SAP capabilities.Design scalable solutions aligned with best-in-class finance operating models.SAP FI/CO OptimizationServe as the functional expert for SAP FI/CO, including:General LedgerAccounts PayableAccounts ReceivableFixed AssetsCost Center AccountingInternal OrdersProduct CostingProfitability Analysis (CO-PA)Identify and implement SAP functionality that improves:Close processesAccount reconciliationsFinancial reportingCost tracking and allocationConfigure and enhance SAP solutions to support finance automation and improved controls.Financial Close & Controls ImprovementSupport initiatives to streamline the monthly close process.Implement automation for:Journal entriesReconciliationsAccrual processesIntercompany accountingHelp design standard reconciliation templates and approval workflows within SAP or supporting tools.Reporting & Data IntegrityImprove financial data quality and transparency across SAP and reporting systems.Work closely with Finance leadership to enhance reporting structures and financial data models.Ensure financial data supports management reporting, operational decision-making, and audit requirements.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with:Finance & AccountingITOperationsInternal AuditTranslate business requirements into functional SAP solutions.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field7–10+ years of SAP FI/CO experienceStrong understanding of finance and accounting processesProven experience improving or automating financial close and accounting processesExperience gathering business requirements and translating them into SAP functional designsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPreferredExperience working in manufacturing or industrial companiesExperience with:SAP S/4HANASAP FioriSAP Group ReportingSAP automation tools or workflow capabilitiesExperience supporting finance transformation initiativesKey CompetenciesDeep knowledge of SAP FI/CO capabilitiesStrong understanding of best-in-class finance processesProcess improvement mindsetAbility to bridge Finance and ITStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsFocus on automation, standardization, and scalabilityWhat Success Looks LikeWithin the first 12–24 months, this role will help deliver:Reduction in manual accounting activitiesImproved automation of journal entries and reconciliationsFaster and more reliable monthly closeImproved financial data integrity and reportingBetter use of SAP capabilities across the finance organization
