Senior Security Analyst, Information SecurityWest LA / Malibu, CA (Onsite initially, hybrid after introductory period) | Direct Hire | Full-TimeAn established institution in the Malibu area is looking for a Senior Security Analyst to join its Information Security team. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own real security operations work, not just monitor dashboards, while working closely with the Director of Information Security to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data.What You'll DoManage operational change requests across firewall, IDS, NAC, DHCP, and DNS systems, applying sound judgment on implementation and security impactPerform intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, and log analysis to identify threats and misconfigurationsOwn and mature incident handling procedures from preparation through lessons learnedAnalyze system and network data, then build and present reporting on findings and control effectivenessConsult with technical teams across the organization to embed security best practices into their workflowsCollaborate with and provide backup support to other members of the security teamWhat You BringGCIA (GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst) or SANS 503 preferred; open to candidates willing to obtain certification within their first 6 months3+ years of IT or Information Security experienceStrong TCP/IP knowledge, including access control lists and low-level packet analysisExperience installing and managing Windows systemsFamiliarity with Perl, Unix command line, and PowerShellNice to HaveAdvanced certifications equivalent to SANS 5xx or 6xx coursesExperience with data reporting and technical documentationFamiliarity with Palo Alto Firewalls, vulnerability management platforms, and NAC solutionsThis is a great opportunity for a security analyst who wants to build deeper incident response and security engineering expertise within a stable, mission-driven organization.Interested candidates should apply with a current resume.
