Senior SLAM / Localization Engineer

Apply & track with Apply EdgeI'm working with a Series C robotics company building autonomous robots that operate across large commercial and industrial environments.Their robots need to navigate complex spaces alongside people, vehicles and other equipment without requiring customers to completely redesign their facilities. They're already deployed commercially and are now scaling both the number of robots in the field and the complexity of the environments they can operate in.A big part of that challenge is localization. They're therefore looking for a Senior SLAM / Localization Engineer to work across SLAM, VIO, mapping, localization, state estimation and sensor fusion using cameras, LiDAR, IMUs and other sensors. They're particularly interested in experience with:Strong modern C++Visual and/or LiDAR SLAMVisual-Inertial OdometryMapping and localizationState estimationSensor fusion and calibrationReal-time robotics systemsDeploying SLAM onto physical robots or autonomous vehiclesUseful but not essential:GTSAMCeresEigenROS / ROS2Multi-sensor calibrationFleet-scale autonomy experiencePythonThe important thing is that you've actually deployed this stuff. They're less interested in someone who's only worked on SLAM in a research environment. It's a good stage to join. They've removed a lot of the early startup risk, but the autonomy architecture is still evolving and you'll be able to influence it.If things continue in the direction they're heading, there's a pretty obvious route towards Staff/Principal responsibility as the autonomy group grows.$200k–$270k base + equity + benefits + relocation available (US only)
