SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEWe’re building a new Retail Engineering team in-house and looking for a versatile senior developer to be its technical backbone. This role reports directly to the CIO and partners closely with a dedicated Business Analyst to support, extend, and evolve the technology platforms that power our luxury retail operations across 30+ stores worldwide.Your primary focus will be our retail commerce platform—Dynamics 365 Commerce and Finance & Operations—but this is not a single-stack role. You’ll context-switch between C# backend work, TypeScript POS extensions, integration APIs, and custom applications, often in the same week. We’re looking for someone who thrives on that variety and picks up new technologies quickly rather than waiting to be trained.Over time, this team will grow beyond retail into broader platform and application development: microservices, mobile apps, internal tools, and solutions for business problems that don’t fit neatly inside an ERP. We want someone who’s excited by that trajectory—a builder who takes ownership of what they ship, cares about the business impact of their code, and is eager to expand into new domains as the team evolves.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSRetail Platform DevelopmentDevelop and maintain extensions and customizations for Dynamics 365 Commerce and Finance & Operations (C# backend, TypeScript/HTML POS client)Build and support integrations connecting retail systems with e-commerce, order management, and other business platforms via REST APIs, OData, and enterprise messaging patternsTroubleshoot and resolve production issues in the retail technology stack; own system stability and performance for the platforms you buildCustom Application & Integration DevelopmentDesign and build microservices, APIs, and full-stack applications that support business operations beyond the ERP—internal tools, workflow automation, line-of-business mobile apps, and operational dashboardsArchitect solutions pragmatically: balance technical quality with business timelines, and choose the right tool for the problem rather than defaulting to a single stackOwn solutions end-to-end from design through deployment and ongoing supportData & Analytics EngineeringDevelop and optimize data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric using PySpark, Delta Lake, and Python notebooksSupport the data architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers) and build tooling that enables business users to access and analyze dataCollaboration & Knowledge SharingPartner with the Business Analyst to translate functional requirements into technical designs and deliver tested, production-ready solutionsWrite clear technical documentation; build systems that others can understand, maintain, and extendWork directly with business stakeholders when needed to understand context and validate solutionsREQUIRED EXPERIENCE5+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated ability to own and deliver complex projects independentlyStrong proficiency in C# / .NET and at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript or Python; genuine comfort working across multiple languages rather than deep specialization in only oneExperience building and consuming REST APIs, working with relational and/or document databases, and deploying to cloud environments (Azure preferred)Track record of supporting production systems you’ve built—not just building and handing off; you’ve lived with the consequences of your design decisionsDemonstrated ability to learn new platforms, frameworks, and business domains quickly and deliver production-quality work without extensive ramp-upClear communication skills; able to discuss technical tradeoffs with non-technical stakeholders and document your work for othersPREFERRED BACKGROUNDExperience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce, Finance & Operations, or legacy AX development (X++, Retail SDK, Commerce Scale Unit)Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, or Spark-based data pipeline developmentMobile development experience (Flutter preferred, or React Native / native iOS/Android)Modern frontend framework experience (React, Angular, or similar)Containerization and CI/CD pipeline experience (Docker, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)Experience working customer-side rather than exclusively in consulting; you’ve owned systems in production long-termTECHNICAL COMPETENCIESC# (.NET Core/Framework), TypeScript/JavaScript, PythonREST API design, OData, integration architecture patternsAzure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, Storage, SQL)Relational and document database design and query optimizationSource control, code review practices, and CI/CD fundamentalsData engineering concepts: ETL/ELT, Delta Lake, PySpark, pipeline orchestrationBENEFITS401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceADDITIONAL INFORMATIONChrome Hearts provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training. The pay range for this role is:130,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD per year DOE
