Senior Software Engineer

This is an exceptional opportunity to be an early member of the permanent technology team,The OpportunityWorking directly with the technical co-founders, you'll drive architectural decisions and own critical systems. This role balances senior Individual Contributor work (80%) with strategic planning and team building (20%), with a path toward Head of Engineering as the team scales.ResponsibilitiesOwn and evolve our high-volume data pipelines processing customs declarations, ML models for risk detection, and generative AI featuresMake technical strategy decisions alongside founders on scaling, tooling, and stack evolutionDesign and implement customer integrations and enterprise API solutionsLead technical aspects of enterprise sales cycles and customer onboardingConduct deep data analysis and engineering to support compliance algorithmsManage AWS and Azure infrastructure and establish engineering best practicesContribute to information security and certificationsMentor junior engineers and establish culture, set standards for documentation and code qualityRequirements:Extensive experience in enterprise web application development, with a track record of owning complex systems end to endDeep expertise in production data engineering, including designing and scaling real-time data analytics pipelinesSecurity-conscious approach to enterprise data handling and infrastructureExperience managing or leading engineers formally or informallyComfortable with Azure & AWS, Docker, and CI/CD practices, and any of Python, PHP, JavascriptStrong communication skills - you'll help us translate business needs into technical solutionsPragmatic problem-solving approach with good judgment on tradeoffs in ambiguityValuable but not required:Frontend and user experience design skillsExpertise in all of Python, PHP, JavaScriptStrong database skills across OLTP & OLAP, using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and document storesFamiliarity with major enterprise ERPs or transportation management solutionsExperience of MLOps or deploying ML models in productionFamiliarity with LLMs incl. open-weights, workflows, evals, agentic approachesKnowledge of trade, logistics, or supply chain domainsTo ApplySend your CV and a brief note on what interests you about early-stage startups to careers@exabler.com.
