This fast-growing scale-up is changing the narrative by using real-time, data-driven insights to prevent them entirely. Nearing one billion connected, insured miles and backed by over £50M in funding, they are building the definitive insurance platform for the next generation of global delivery, logistics, and ride-hailing networks. To fuel this next phase of hyper-growth, the business is expanding its core platform capabilities. This role sits within a highly strategic team tasked with engineering the systems that bring entirely new fleets, brokers, and industry sectors onto the platform. As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will step into an end-to-end ownership role. You will design, deploy, and measure the impact of features that directly unlock new commercial opportunities, balancing complex backend architecture with intuitive user experiences. What You’ll Be DoingYou will dive deep into a sophisticated, highly asynchronous technical ecosystem where you will lead features from initial ideation through to production. Your daily focus will balance writing clean, performant domain logic with establishing the frontend tools that make complex configurations seamless for the wider business.Drive architectural consistency across a TypeScript monorepo using CQRS and Hexagonal architecture.Design commands, events, and projections to keep distributed microservices communicating asynchronously.Partner with product and underwriting teams to transform complex rating logic into clean interfaces.Extend an internal React-based application that safely configures product behavior and onboards new sectors.Build and scale resilient, cloud-native services utilizing a modern AWS serverless stack.Champion technical excellence across the team, focusing on system observability, idempotency, and graceful recovery. What They’re LookingForThe team values practical, collaborative engineers who care deeply about system design, code quality, and the commercial impact of their work. They look for professionals who enjoy solving intricate domain modelling challenges and thrive in a culture of continuous technical improvement.EssentialStrong hands-on engineering capability with a track record of navigating large TypeScript monorepos.Production experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven backend architectures on AWS.Deep understanding of asynchronous patterns, eventual consistency, retries, and idempotency.Strong architectural foundation with exposure to CQRS, event sourcing, or Clean/Hexagonal Architecture.Practical, hands-on experience building web applications with a modern frontend framework, ideally React.Nice toHaveExperience building internal toolings or dashboard interfaces on top of highly complex domain models. Background modelling intricate business domains where configuration layers and rules evolve frequently.Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, automated testing pipelines, and modern observability tools like DataDog.Prior technical exposure to fintech, insurtech, or other highly regulated, transactional environments.WhyJoin? This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven scale-up where engineering excellence directly unlocks company growth and your technical decisions have immediate visibility.
