Software Developer / Software Architect – Radio Framework | AUG Contract | Berlin | 18 months | Up to €125,000 p.a. (negotiable)We are recruiting on behalf of a world-leading defence and communications technology group. The organisation designs and manufactures Software Defined Radio systems deployed in some of the most demanding defence and security environments globally.The Berlin team is looking for a Software Developer / Architect to own the CI/CD pipeline, test infrastructure, and QA framework for their SDR platform. The role spans from pipeline design to hardware-in-the-loop test automation — integrating real measurement equipment into automated environments and maintaining full requirements traceability across the software lifecycle. Candidates with DO-178 or safety-critical defence experience qualify for the top salary tier (up to €125k).The Role:Design and implement CI/CT/CD pipelines using GitLab for the Software Defined Radio frameworkIntegrate and automate real measurement equipment — oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers — into test environmentsDefine requirements-based test cases for the SDR software framework; create test procedures, campaigns, and evaluate and document resultsEnsure full traceability between software framework releases, requirements, test results, and defect reportsConduct fault analysis and root-cause investigations in close collaboration with hardware and software development teamsEssential Requirements:Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or comparable qualificationExperience in hardware-near software development and testing of complex systems — microcontrollers, SoCs, RF/radio technology; ideally in a military or safety-critical environmentStrong C/C++ and Python; experience with CMakeProven experience in test automation and test framework development; ideally Xray and JiraCI/CD pipeline experience — GitLabEU or NATO member state nationality — mandatory (country of birth)Fluent German and English — both written and spokenStrong AdvantageDO-178 or equivalent aviation/defence safety standard experience — qualifies for top salary tier (€115k–125k)Background in military or safety-critical RF/radio development environmentsThe Details:Location: Berlin, GermanyContract term: 18 monthsSalary: Up to €125,000 p.a.
