Senior Software Engineer

Hampton North is partnering with a Series A, mission-driven cyber startup building autonomous defense solutions for government, defense, and critical commercial sectors. Small, elite team, high standards, and work that genuinely matters.Location: New York or Washington DC (onsite)Compensation: $180,000-$235,000 Base + EquityWhat you'll be doing:Designing, developing, and deploying backend and frontend features with a focus on high quality and maintainable codeOwning projects end to end from conception through to delivery, managing blockers along the wayCollaborating with engineers and designers to create user-friendly workflows aligned with the product missionWorking directly with end users to ensure the product is solving real operational problemsParticipating in code reviews and contributing to best practices across the engineering orgWhat you'll need:Strong experience in web development with proficiency in Node and ReactStrong experience designing backend APIs and efficient database schemasAbility to independently manage project scope, set realistic timelines, and resolve issues autonomouslyEffective written and verbal communication skills for a distributed team environmentExperience with strongly typed languages Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure is a plus
