(Pro Rata) | Extension PossibleAre you passionate about building modern cloud-native platforms while embracing the future of AI-assisted software development?Our client, a global leader in digital payments and financial technology, is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help drive an exciting AI-first engineering transformation. You'll play a key role in designing scalable microservices, modernising legacy platforms, and building resilient, event-driven solutions that power millions of transactions worldwide.What you'll be doing:Designing and developing Java-based microservices and cloud-native applications.Building event-driven solutions using technologies such as Kafka and Kubernetes.Modernising legacy systems using modern engineering patterns and best practices.Driving engineering excellence through automation, CI/CD, observability and AI-assisted development tools.Mentoring engineers and helping shape the adoption of AI-first software engineering practices.What we're looking for:Strong commercial Java development experience.Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.Experience building event-driven applications using Kafka or similar technologies.Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, infrastructure automation and observability.Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot is highly desirable.Excellent communication skills with experience working in complex enterprise environments.If you're looking to work on cutting-edge payment technology, influence the adoption of AI across engineering teams, and help build the next generation of scalable platforms, we'd love to hear from you.
