Senior Software Engineer

About The OpportunityA client is looking for a senior backend engineer with at least 4 years of production Go experience who can thrive in an early-stage startup environment. You should be comfortable operating independently with high autonomy, designing systems from scratch, and holding a high bar for security and code quality. Bonus points if you have experience in identity/access management, fintech, or other high-stakes domains. This is a full-time remote position. Canddiates must be based in the United States and be able to work within the Eastern (ET) or Pacific (PT) time zones.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign and build scalable, secure backend services for our enterprise identity platform from the ground up. Take ownership of API design across web and service-to-service boundaries, database schema modeling, and system architecture. Work closely with product and design from the earliest stages to shape what gets built, not just how. Build and operate distributed, high-availability systems with enterprise-scale reliability requirements. Maintain our "secure by design" product principle by implementing security best practices across the stack. Translate product and design requirements into detailed engineering architecture and design documents. Contribute to engineering culture, practices, and hiring as an early team member. Job Qualifications4+ years of experience writing production Go in backend systems. Production Go proficiency.Built and operated distributed backend systems in production.Early- stage startup experience (seed to Series B).Bachelors Degree in CS or a related field.API design and database schema design (SQL, ideally Postgres).
