The Role📍Hybrid in London - 3 Days Senior Software Engineer within a fast-growing startup environment. We are looking for someone to own features and systems from discovery through to production and ongoing iteration. The team works in short, high-accountability sprint cycles and expects engineers to take real ownership from day one.The engineering culture is pragmatic and collaborative. The client is looking for someone who raises the quality bar through example rather than ceremony and who brings a genuine ownership mindset to the work.What You Will BringSenior level experience as a software engineer with strong hands-on coding ability across the stackProven ability to ship and maintain production software in a fast-moving product environmentDemonstrated pragmatism in engineering decisions, knowing when to refactor, when to ship, and when to leave well aloneStrong engineering fundamentals applied to complex, evolving production codebasesA clear ownership mindset and the ability to translate business requirements into clean, proportionate technical solutions without over-engineeringSuccessful experience mentoring or supporting the development of other engineersStrong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across product and engineering teamsThe ability to pick up new concepts, technologies, and domain knowledge quickly when requiredComfort jumping into live codebases and adapting to existing product culture and engineering standardsEnergy for rapid iterative delivery cycles rather than resistance to themBonus PointsExperience with modern backend frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Python/Django, or similar)Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)A background in product-focused engineering environmentsExperience working in a startup or scale-up environmentThe CompanyOur client is a product-led technology business operating in a high growth, fast-paced sector.
