Senior Software Engineer

A lean, dedicated technical team drives rapid release cycles and continuous innovation, while collaborating closely with early adopters and global testers to build a product users trust and enjoy.Role Description As a Senior Software Engineer at BisChat, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and core application components for our messaging platform. You will work closely with product and engineering peers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, optimize performance and reliability, and ensure high standards of security and privacy. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting new features, reviewing code, mentoring other engineers, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to continuous integration and deployment improvements. This is a full-time remote role, offering flexibility in location while requiring strong collaboration across distributed teams.Qualifications Solid foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications.Strong skills in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and database integration.Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and clean, maintainable code practices.Hands-on experience with distributed systems, messaging or real-time communication platforms is highly beneficial.Knowledge of security best practices, privacy-by-design principles, and performance optimization for large-scale applications.Comfort working in an agile, fast-paced environment with remote, cross-functional teams.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
