There will be whiteboarding, new concepts to invent, and real ambiguity to navigate. There isn't much hierarchy and there aren't many pre-defined rules. There is a lot of learning and sharing.About your roleYou will build technology that directly impacts the lives of our customers.From implementing a financial model to creating self-healing, eventually consistent domain services, you will design and create performant, reliable applications that directly contribute to TRIVER's mission.We work in an Extreme Programming environment, with fast feedback loops and small deployments, subject matter experts close to hand for business decisions, and a rigorous use of TDD. Expect continuous deployment, engaging colleagues, and ownership of challenging problems.Our stack is typed Python with Pydantic throughout, running serverless on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Step Functions), with Terraform for infrastructure, GitHub Actions for CI/CD, and Snowflake for reporting and analytics. Open banking data feeds our underwriting and monitoring; our API is how partners embed us in their own products.As Senior Engineer, you will:Use your experience and expertise to guide technology decisions both on a project and company levelUse a DDD based approach to create, maintain, and deploy domain services, working closely with subject matter expertsDesign scalable, secure, fault tolerant infrastructure, utilising a serverless-first approachWork with AI as a first-class part of the toolchain, agentic coding tools day to day and model-backed features in the product, bringing the judgement to know which of the two a problem calls forMentor other members of the teamYou should apply if you haveBuilt and run production services on AWS: Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge or close equivalentsStrong Python, and opinions about what good typed Python looks like at service boundariesUsed infrastructure-as-code in anger, whether Terraform or an equivalentAn appreciation for data driven decisions, with SQL and data modelling being second natureA curiosity for system design, and a passion for designing idiomatic APIsUsed AI coding tools seriously enough to have a view on where they help and where they don'tYou arecomfortable making decisions without complete information, in a codebase and a domain that are both still forminga rigorous logical thinker with strong analytical skillsa team player who shines in a collaborative environmentthoughtful about risk, willing to think big and able to tell which risks are worth taking in a regulated lenderNice to haveExperience in FinTech, particularly lending or creditExposure to evolutionary architecture principlesWorked with eventually consistent service orientated designsExperience working with open banking dataWhy join us?We buy the best tools and we don't ration them.
