EKS), OpenShift, Automation (CI/CD & IaC), Go, Python, Node.js, AI-Assisted Software DevelopmentRole OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead design and development of complex, highly available, distributed systems on AWS using Go, Python, and Node.js, running on Kubernetes-based platforms such as EKS and OpenShift. You will set technical direction for a team, drive an automation-first engineering culture, and act as a hands-on technical leader who partners with product and client stakeholders to turn requirements into resilient, well-tested systems.Key ResponsibilitiesLead design and development of complex, distributed, high-availability systems in Go, Python, and Node.jsDefine technical approach and engineering best practices for the teamOwn key AWS infrastructure decisions covering scalability, cost, security, and resilience across container orchestration platforms (EKS, OpenShift) and serverless/compute servicesDrive automation strategy across CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, testing, and operationsLead technical design reviews and set coding and architecture standardsMentor mid-level and junior engineers and guide their technical growthPartner with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutionsLead incident response, root-cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvementsEvaluate and introduce new tools and technologies where they add clear valueRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field8–12 years of software engineering experience, with significant depth in distributed systemsExpert-level proficiency in Go and Python, with strong working proficiency in Node.js for polyglot service environmentsDeep hands-on expertise with AWS architecture and services, including container orchestration on EKSHands-on experience running and operating workloads on Red Hat OpenShift as an enterprise Kubernetes platformProven experience designing and scaling automation frameworks and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible)Strong grasp of distributed systems fundamentals: consistency models, fault tolerance, service mesh, messaging systems (Kafka, SQS/SNS), and data partitioningExperience leading technical projects or small teamsStrong written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional and client stakeholdersAI Knowledge & AI-Assisted Development (Required)Strong, demonstrated use of AI-assisted and agentic development workflows (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) across the full development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, review, and documentationAble to define and enforce team-level standards for responsible AI-assisted coding, including validation rigor, security scanning of AI-generated code, and avoiding data leakage in promptsPractical knowledge of AI/LLM integration patterns for backend systems: APIs, prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and agentic workflows (e.g., MCP)Able to identify where AI-driven automation can meaningfully improve engineering velocity, code quality, or operational efficiency, and lead adoption within the teamEnsures AI tool usage on the team aligns with data privacy and security requirements, particularly around PHI and other sensitive health plan dataPreferred QualificationsExtensive experience in the US health insurance or payer domain: claims, enrollment, benefits, provider networks, and HIPAA/compliance-aware system designExperience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI)Prior experience in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment
