Swish Labs is actively growing and welcomes people who are excited to shape the future of mortgage technology.Role Description The Senior Software Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York, NY, with flexibility for part-time work from home. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable back-end services that power Swish Labs’ AI-native mortgage platform. Day-to-day work includes implementing robust APIs, optimizing data workflows, and ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine requirements, deliver high-quality features, and continuously improve the platform’s architecture. This role also involves mentoring other engineers, conducting code reviews, and contributing to technical decision-making and best practices across the engineering team.Salary: $150K-$220K OTEQualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.Demonstrated experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or Node.js).Hands-on expertise in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, databases, and distributed systems.Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in large-scale systems.Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and working with CI/CD pipelines.Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code; familiarity with automated testing and monitoring tools.Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.Prior experience in fintech, lending, or complex transactional systems is a plus.Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
