Software Engineer - C++/BroadcastPermanent ContractRemote - EU-basedRates, NegotiableAre you a C++ developer who wants your code running live on TV channels across the world?An established, fast-growing broadcast software company is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join its development team. You'll work on its flagship integrated playout product, the mission-critical software broadcasters rely on to keep channels on air around the clock.What you'll be doingInvestigating, designing and building new features, and improving existing ones.Analysing bug reports and working with the people who raised them to find root causes and deliver testable fixes.Writing unit tests and other tests as part of a strong commitment to quality.Setting up and configuring test and build environments for development, testing and internal demos.Helping to continuously improve the team's software practices.Mentoring and supporting junior developers.What you'll bringModern C++ (C++11 or later), ideally with C++17 and beyond.Experience with the Qt framework.Experience with Matrox SDKs, such as the Matrox DSX SDK or other Matrox video I/O hardware.A track record of delivering software products across the full development life cycle, from requirements through to tested software in customers' hands.The ability to get to grips with an existing codebase and build efficient solutions to new requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.The self-management and communication skills to thrive remotely, including day-to-day work with support, project delivery and other teams.Nice to haveDebugging and fault-finding using crash dumps and logs.Experience with SQL, XML, and client/server communication and synchronisation across networks.A good understanding of C++ build processes and tooling.Interested?
