Senior Software Engineer

eMagine Solutions is supporting a high-growth FinTech client to hire a Senior .NET Engineer to build and optimise the backend services powering real-time trading. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving hard problems around concurrency, performance, reliability, and production observability.You’ll join an Agile squad and work closely with product and engineering peers to deliver scalable, secure microservices that perform under heavy load and remain transparent in production through strong telemetry and monitoring.What you’ll be doingBuild and evolve .NET Core microservices used in real-time trading workflowsDesign for high concurrency using async programming and multi-threading, with a strong focus on thread safetyImplement event-driven patterns using Kafka, AWS SQS, RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologiesOptimise services for low-latency and high-throughput workloadsImprove resilience and fault tolerance across distributed componentsContribute to modern architecture approaches including Clean Architecture, Vertical Slice Architecture and CQRSTranslate trading and financial requirements into robust technical solutionsMaintain quality through TDD, code reviews, and strong automated testing (unit, integration, performance)Implement OpenTelemetry for tracing, metrics and logsBuild and maintain dashboards and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana and Kibana to ensure actionable insight in productionParticipate fully in Scrum ceremonies and Agile delivery practicesWhat eMagine Solutions is looking for5+ years of software engineering experience with strong C# and .NET Core expertiseDeep experience with multi-threading, async patterns, and concurrency in distributed systemsProven delivery of domain-driven microservices and strong understanding of service boundariesStrong knowledge of event-driven systems and messaging frameworks (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ)Practical experience with observability tooling: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic/KibanaCI/CD experience plus containerisation with Docker and orchestration with KubernetesStrong Git and version control best practicesComfortable working in Scrum-based Agile teamsNice to haveExperience with Saga patterns for distributed transactionsExperience in trading or financial systems, especially low-latency environmentsSQL Server performance tuning and database optimisationQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldRelevant certifications in software development, architecture, or AWS are beneficial
