Apply & track with Apply EdgeCOMPLY is a fast-growing SaaS leader in the Compliance and Regulatory technology space. Serving more than 7,000 financial services firms globally, our unique portfolio of services and software transform how firms proactively assess, identify, and manage risk. The world’s largest hedge funds, private equity firms, wealth asset managers, and institutional brokers trust us to help them navigate a complex and challenging regulatory environment as pursue new opportunities.Senior Software Engineer:At COMPLY, we are looking to build our team of talented and innovative engineers. Members of our team take a high degree of ownership when it comes to work, we do. We care about what we do and the people we do it with. We're guided by a deep empathy for our customers and their needs, and we think carefully about how our users and our world may be affected by the decisions we make. We're constantly aiming to drive improvements for our users and build useful things that make our world better. We're looking for candidates comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. We value tenacity, commitment to learning, empathy, humility, ambition, curiosity and a deep-seated belief in the power of data to inform and improve how things get done and decisions get made.We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with the instincts of a strong platform engineer to help raise the bar on software development practices across COMPLY and drive the reusable patterns and capabilities that every product team builds on. The right candidate has deep software engineering chops, has built shared platform components that other engineers adopt, takes craft and code quality seriously, and uses AI development tools fluently to ship more, faster, without dropping the quality bar.The Role:You will help drive the patterns, libraries, services and engineering practices that make COMPLY's product teams faster and more consistent. That means understanding the existing tech stack across product lines, finding the duplication and the rough edges, designing reusable building blocks that solve the same problem once and well, and partnering with product engineers to bring them on board. You will spend your time roughly between hands-on building of platform capabilities, helping product teams adopt them, and shaping the practices (reviews, design, testing, release) that govern how we ship.AI development tools are a core part of the job, not an extracurricular. You will use Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or similar every day to accelerate design exploration, code generation, refactoring, test authoring and review, and you will share what works back with the team so AI-assisted engineering becomes a real practice, not personal preference.Key Responsibilities:Reusable Platform Capabilities:Design, build and maintain shared libraries, SDKs, service templates and reference implementations that product teams adopt across COMPLY's portfolio.Identify cross-cutting concerns (auth, logging, telemetry, configuration, error handling, feature flags, multi-tenancy, data access) and turn them into reusable building blocks with strong defaults.Define and document the patterns for how products consume platform capabilities, including versioning, deprecation and migration paths.Build internal developer-facing tooling that makes the right thing the easy thing: project scaffolds, code generators, lint and contract checks, golden-path CI workflows.Software Development Practices and Alignment:Help drive engineering practices across teams: code review standards, design review patterns, testing strategy, documentation expectations and release hygiene.Partner with engineering leads across product teams to align on shared design decisions and prevent parallel reinvention of the same components.Lead and contribute to design docs, architecture decision records and reusable patterns documentation that the broader engineering org can rely on.Coach product teams adopting shared platform components and act as a sounding board on hard design problems.Hands-On Software Delivery:Develop full-stack platform and product features using COMPLY's core stack, including C#, .NET Core, and any of the modern UI frameworks like Vue, React or similar.Design and implement REST APIs, event-driven where appropriate, data models and integration points used by multiple downstream teams.Work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and ORMs such as Entity Framework to design data access patterns that scale and stay maintainable.Write clean, maintainable, testable code, and hold the same bar in code review.Improve observability, performance and reliability of platform components, including instrumentation, profiling and capacity considerations.AI-Assisted Engineering:Use AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot or similar) as a serious part of your daily workflow for design, coding, refactoring, testing and review.Develop and share AI-assisted engineering practices with the team: prompt patterns that work, where to trust output, where to verify, how to keep quality high while moving faster.Qualifications:6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong full-stack delivery in C# / .NET, Python or a comparable enterprise stack.Demonstrated experience building shared platform components, internal libraries, SDKs or developer tooling that other engineers adopted and relied on.Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, API design and the patterns that hold up at scale across multiple teams and products.Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework (Vue, React, Angular or Razor).Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL), ORMs (Entity Framework or equivalent) and data access patterns suitable for shared platform use.Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), containerization and modern CI/CD practice.Demonstrated hands-on use of AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot or similar) in your day-to-day work, with a clear point of view on where they help and where they hurt.A strong sense of software craft. You care about readability, naming, testability, backwards compatibility and the experience of the engineer who picks up your code next.Strong written and verbal communication. You can pick up an ambiguous problem, scope it, write the design and move it forward without constant direction.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Nice to Have:Prior experience as a platform engineer, developer productivity engineer or framework engineer in a multi-team product organization.Experience defining versioning, deprecation and migration strategies for internal libraries and APIs consumed by many teams.Experience with microservices architecture, containerization, event-driven systems and observability tooling.Familiarity with LLM and agent-based features in product code (prompt engineering, retrieval, tool use, evals), even if not the primary focus of your work. Background in financial services, compliance or another regulated domain.Experience working in an Agile environment with cross-functional product and design partners. What We Offer:A high-impact role helping define how the entire COMPLY engineering organization builds software. The chance to ship platform code, patterns and practices that other engineers and product managers rely on every day.A collaborative team that takes both software craft and AI-assisted engineering seriously. An environment where AI-native engineering is the norm, with the autonomy to bring your own ideas about how to make it work well at scale.
