Senior Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel)

We're a fast-growing, international scale-up, and we're looking for people who are determined to make a positive impact on the future of electric mobility.The RoleAs a Software Engineer, you'll design, test, and build new functionality for our core client-facing applications. You'll play a key role in optimizing our Data Retrieval Platform, the central portal where clients access, analyze, and download current and historical datasets on the global EV charging market, hardware distribution, and pricing.You'll also help build our Data Verification Service. With roughly 41% of EV chargers currently displaying errors on public maps, you'll help build the systems that automatically catch and fix these inconsistencies across platforms like Google and Apple Maps, directly reducing driver frustration and recovering lost operator revenue.You'll work on the data architecture behind these high-impact applications, the APIs serving the frontend, and ensuring customers can reliably consume very large datasets. You'll collaborate closely with the product manager to help shape and prioritize the technical roadmap. Our main language is PHP, though experience with Go is a strong plus, as we're actively transitioning toward it.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive functional improvements to the Data Verification Service by adding new data sources and improving the matching process;Build a new product to expose utilization data, tackling the architectural challenge of making a very large dataset easily accessible and digestible for customers;Own the data architecture and frontend-serving APIs behind our Data Retrieval Platform, Data Verification Service, and Partner Portal;Rebuild and optimize critical system components to prepare them for future scale;Proactively identify and propose improvements to product, architecture, and systems (performance, scalability, security);Work with the product manager to provide input on priorities and jointly manage the technical roadmap.Requirements5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on PHP (Laravel) development on professional projects;Familiarity with our stack is a plus: PHP (Laravel), Go, GitLab CI, Google Cloud Platform, MySQL, BiqQuery, Kubernetes, Docker — as an experienced engineer, we expect you'll pick up new tools quickly if needed;Comfortable with system design;Comfortable with data engineering/pipelining;Experience with testing, and a genuine interest in code maintainability and readabilityStrong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset;A growth mindset — open to feedback, eager to learn, and up to date with technical advancements.We CareUp to €90k base salaryFun, international team with frequent company events;Dynamic scale-up environment with plenty of opportunity to make an impact;Hybrid working model: our own office near Utrecht Central Station, with in-office days for collaboration and flexibility to work from home 2 days a week;20 weeks of 100% paid parental leave25 vacation days;€150,- medical allowance;Employee well-being support and fitness programs;Membership to an EV car-sharing service;A role with real autonomy, challenge, and opportunity for growth.If this sounds like your next role, don’t hesitate to apply easily via email or reach out to me directly here on Linkedin.
