Senior Software Engineer Technical Lead

With more than 30 years of industry experience, HL Gulf supports airport operators in maintaining safe, efficient, compliant, and high-performing airport environments.Role Description The Senior Software Engineer Technical Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Jeddah. This role is responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of software systems that support HL Gulf’s airfield services and operational platforms. The Technical Lead will oversee back-end architecture, review code, set technical standards, and guide the implementation of scalable, secure solutions. Daily tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications, mentoring software engineers, and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development. The role also involves troubleshooting complex technical issues, optimizing system performance, and contributing to strategic technology roadmaps aligned with HL Gulf’s safety and compliance goals.Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture principles.Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with experience building robust, scalable services and APIs.Advanced Programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar) and familiarity with development frameworks.Solid experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns in production environments.Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, providing technical mentorship, and conducting code and design reviews.Experience with databases, cloud or on-premise infrastructure, integration technologies, and software security best practices.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with operations, safety, and management teams.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Background in aviation, transportation, or mission-critical systems is an advantage.
