About the Role
We’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineering Manager / Architect to lead a highly technical software organization developing complex, mission-critical systems.This role combines technical leadership, people management, and engineering strategy. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer who has transitioned into leadership but remains technically engaged in architecture, design, and engineering decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers and technical leads.Drive hiring, career development, performance management, and team growth.Provide technical leadership across software architecture, system design, development, integration, debugging, and testing.Participate in architecture and design discussions and identify technical risks, technical debt, and architectural weaknesses.Promote modern engineering practices, automation, testing, CI/CD, tooling, and software reuse.Support project planning, estimation, resource management, prioritization, and execution.Partner with engineering, product, quality, and technical leadership teams.Coordinate software development with systems, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, test, manufacturing, and operations teams.Help establish consistent engineering standards and a culture of technical excellence.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.8+ years of professional software engineering experience.2+ years leading software engineers or technical teams.Strong background in software architecture and system design.Experience with development, integration, debugging, testing, and software lifecycle management.Experience with modern development practices, configuration management, automated testing, and CI/CD.Strong communication, planning, estimation, prioritization, and resource management skills.Ability to understand complex systems at both the architectural and implementation levels.
Preferred Experience
