Senior Solar Engineer (DEWA Solar PV Expert, Senior)

THE ROLEServe as the Named Technical Authority for the Company toenrol with DEWA for all low voltage work and to register as a DubaiMunicipality contractor, and hold the engineering standard for everysystem the company builds.Reports to: Managing Director.WHAT YOU WILL DO- Certification and enrolment. Hold and maintain DEWA Solar PV Expert, Senior, act as the company's nominated senior expert on the DEWA enrolment file, and keep the certified staff requirement satisfied at all times as project sizes and volumes change.- Technical sign off. No design, regulatory submission or energisation leaves the company without senior review and signature.- Regulator interface. Own DEWA for distributed generation, Dubai Municipality for the contractor register technical file and competency certificate compliance across all technical staff, and Dubai Civil Defence where storage is in scope.- Engineering standard. Set and maintain the design library, technical specification, approved equipment list checked against DEWA eligibility, inspection and test plans, commissioning protocols, and the workmanship warranty position.- Certification pipeline. Plan and sponsor every engineer's route from competency certificate to DEWA Junior to DEWA Senior, so that no single certificate is a single point of failure for the company.- Team leadership. Lead the engineering function, set the standard of review, and manage the Solar Engineer and Junior Solar Engineer layers.- Vendor governance. Prequalify subcontractors against DEWA enrolment and Dubai Municipality registration, review method statements, attend hold points, and formally accept subcontracted works.- Commercial support. Provide buildability, risk and cost input at bid stage, and act as the technical voice in front of customers and investors.WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering from a recognised institution, attested for use in the United Arab Emirates.- DEWA Solar PV Expert, Senior, currently held. Candidates holding Junior with documented evidence of meeting every published Senior criterion will be considered, with the upgrade completed at the company's cost as a condition of confirmation.- Eight or more years of professional experience in electrical systems, including at least three solar photovoltaic plants in design, construction, or verification and testing, evidenced by project records.- Dubai Municipality Professional Competency Certificate in the electrical discipline, held and current.- Current membership of the United Arab Emirates Society of Engineers.- A record of Shams Dubai approvals obtained as the responsible engineer.- Experience leading or supervising other engineers.- United Arab Emirates driving licence.- Eligible to transfer to or be sponsored for a United Arab Emirates employment visa by the company.NICE TO HAVE- Experience taking a company through DEWA contractor enrolment or Dubai Municipality contractor registration from a standing start.- Medium voltage and commercial or industrial photovoltaic experience.- Battery energy storage design and the current Dubai Civil Defence requirements.- Experience building and supervising an installation crew.- Arabic.WHAT WE OFFER- A Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation contract, with the company as your visa sponsor.- Medical insurance, annual leave and an annual return air ticket in line with company policy.- Company funded professional certification where the role requires it, including DEWA Solar PV Expert and the Dubai Municipality Professional Competency Certificate.- Paid monthly through the Wage Protection System, so you are paid on time and on record.- Work you can point at.
