We are headquartered in Port Moresby with a growing presence in Fiji. We are still small enough that an individual’s work is visible and matters, and we are growing quickly. The standard we set in our products is, in practice, part of the standard being set for technology services in the region, so how a customer experiences NiuPay is treated as a first-order concern rather than a finishing touch.Purpose of the roleThe Senior Solution Architect is the senior technical presence in front of customers through the sales cycle. The role runs demonstrations, draws out and documents requirements, and produces the solution architecture that sits behind a proposal, so that the technical weight of a sales conversation no longer rests on the availability of the Chief Technology Officer. It sits in the sales team, works closely with delivery and engineering, and is usually the first person to put a defensible shape around an opportunity. It also carries responsibility for bringing on the interns and junior technical staff who work in front of customers.Key responsibilities· Lead product demonstrations and technical presentations for government and enterprise customers, built around the customer’s own processes rather than a standard script.· Act as the senior technical point of contact through the sales cycle, from first conversation to contract, and the technical escalation point for the sales team.· Run requirements gathering workshops with customers, and turn what is said in the room into documented, agreed requirements.· Produce solution designs, options and effort estimates, and own the technical sections of bids, proposals and tender responses.· Produce the supporting artefacts: context diagrams, integration designs, data flows, interface specifications and, where warranted, proof of concept environments.· Assess how each requirement fits the existing NiuPay platforms, distinguish configuration from extension from new build, and state assumptions and dependencies plainly.· Design hosting, deployment and environment approaches on AWS, and account for security, data sovereignty and regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction we operate in, including Papua New Guinea and Fiji.· Hand over to delivery cleanly, so that what was sold is what gets built, and remain available to delivery on design questions after contract.· Develop interns and junior technical staff in customer-facing roles: bring them into workshops and demonstrations, review their designs and documents, and set the standard for how NiuPay presents technically to a customer.· Build reusable demonstration assets, reference architectures and estimating patterns so the same work is not repeated for each opportunity.What you bring· Seven (7) or more years in solution architecture, presales or technical consulting, including direct customer-facing responsibility during the sales cycle.· A record of running demonstrations and technical discussions with senior government or enterprise stakeholders, and holding the room.· Demonstrated ability to run requirements gathering and turn open-ended discussion into documented, agreed scope.· Practical experience designing and deploying on AWS, with AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or higher, or the ability to obtain it within the probationary period.· Integration experience across systems you did not build, including APIs, file-based interfaces, identity and payments.· Experience supervising, coaching or mentoring junior technical staff.· Writing that stands up to scrutiny from a technical reviewer and a non-technical decision maker alike.· A qualification in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.What success looks likeSales conversations carry their own technical weight, without drawing on the Chief Technology Officer for routine demonstrations and architecture. Requirements are documented before commitments are made, and what is handed to delivery matches what was sold.
