Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Summary:We are looking for a Senior Specialist – Financial Planning & Reporting to join our Finance team. The role will focus on financial reporting, month-end closing, GL accounting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while ensuring compliance with IFRS/SOCPA and regulatory.Key Responsibilities:Support the month-end and period-end closing process to ensure accurate and timely completion.Review daily General Ledger (GL) postings for accuracy, completeness, proper classification, and compliance with accounting policies.Review and validate month-end closing entries, including accruals, provisions, prepayments, amortization, and depreciation.Perform and review GL account reconciliations and period-end adjustments.Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and posting errors.Prepare and review bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding reconciling items.Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports in accordance with IFRS / SOCPA.Support annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.Prepare periodic financial and management reports with relevant analysis and observations.Support regulatory reporting requirements and ensure timely submission of required reports.Support the preparation, validation, and reconciliation of Zakat, VAT, and WHT returns and statutory reports.Ensure accounting transactions comply with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.Support internal and external audit activities by providing required financial records and explanations.Coordinate with internal departments and finance teams to obtain and validate financial data and supporting documents.Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Head of Financial Planning & Reporting.Support continuous improvement of financial reporting, reconciliation, and control processes.Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of General Ledger and financial accounting processes.Excellent understanding of month-end closing and reconciliation procedures.Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Good understanding of financial controls and compliance.Business acumen and sound financial judgment.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.High level of integrity and professional ethics.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.Strong command of English.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Accounting is preferred.6–8 years of overall experience in General Ledger, Financial Reporting, and Accounting.2–3 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role.Experience in the insurance sector is preferred.Strong experience in month-end closing, GL accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.Good knowledge of IFRS, SOCPA, Zakat, VAT, and WHT requirements.Familiarity with regulatory requirements within the insurance sector.CPA / SOCPA / IFRS certification is an advantage.
