Team members join a rapidly growing company with exposure to a broad range of exploration and production activities.Role Description: The Senior Staff Geologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Jacksboro, TX. This role is responsible for leading geological evaluations, including subsurface mapping, log interpretation, and integration of geophysical data to support exploration, development, and production decisions. Day-to-day activities include finding behind pipe recompletion opportunities, offset these opportunities with new drill infill or step-out development, assist in all A&D evaluations and support Land in leasing efforts.Please do not apply unless you are within a commutable distance to Jacksboro, TX or are willing to relocate in a timely manner. Responsibilities
Manage geological database (GVERSE GeoGraphix) and fully utilize its core functions; Well Data Visualization & Analysis, Seismic Interpretation, Reservoir Characterization, Advanced Geoscience Workflows, Integration with Industry Data (Enverus)Prepare detailed studies regarding existing producing properties with respect to future drilling, secondary recovery operations, and rework potential.Evaluate prospects and develop lead areas by conducting well data analysis, log interpretation and lithologic correlation, generation of maps and cross sections, and modeling gas /oil in place volumetric estimates.Develop recompletion proposals (behind pipe reserves) justifications and work closely with engineering to update reserve reports. Develop existing assets by daily interaction with engineering, selection of well completion intervals and providing geological interpretation during field operations.Provide geology support for generating AFE’s and coordinate all geotechnical aspects of drilling prognosis.Work closely with Land and Regulatory to support leasing efforts and permitting processes.Provide geologic support for business development and A&D opportunities.Compensation: Base salary will be highly competitive and significantly subject to experience. Recognition will be granted to individuals that have backgrounds spanning multiple asset types, both conventional and unconventional, within diverse basins/regions. Hybrid professionals who combine geoscience and reservoir engineering who can bring both subsurface interpretation and economic modeling perspectives will also be favored.Additional compensation will include typical competitive benefits; healthcare for employee and dependents, vision, dental, 401K, PTO, etc. There is also a metric driven annual bonus consideration, that can be considerable depending on company and individual performances.
