This is a strategic sourcing seat, not a transactional or replenishment (min/max) buyer role. You'll own how the company sources the parts and materials it builds on: bidding work out to manufacturers, negotiating suppliers, and making buying decisions that protect production as the business grows 25 to 30% a year.𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲• You think past the purchase order: total cost, lead time, supplier risk, and where inventory will bite three months out• You've worked across manufacturing, not just purchasing (production, planning, or scheduling), so you see how a buying call ripples through the floor• You live in Excel (pivot tables, index/match) and don't just trust whatever the ERP tells you• You've sourced globally and can run a real bid, not just replenish min/max• This is not for a pure replenishment buyer who only executes what the system says𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘄𝗻• Strategic sourcing across raw materials, components, and manufactured parts (plastic injection molding, metals, castings and forgings)• Bidding and negotiating with suppliers worldwide and building long-term supply relationships• Layering sales forecasts, lead times, and inventory risk on top of the ERP to keep production supplied• Cost-reduction and supplier-performance initiatives• Partnering with engineering and operations on new products and design changes𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴• 8+ years in procurement, purchasing, or strategic sourcing, with real strategic (not min/max) sourcing experience• Broader-than-purchasing exposure: production, planning, or scheduling in a manufacturing environment• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, index/match or XLOOKUP) and comfort pulling and shaping ERP data (we run Great Plains)• A track record negotiating suppliers and delivering measurable savings• Bachelor's degree (every hire completes a skills and aptitude assessment)• Bonus: APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CPSM, ISO quality systems, or global sourcing of metals, plastics, or machined parts𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲• $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience• Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, PTO and holidays• On-site in Compton, CA, Monday through Friday (most days done by 4:00 to 4:30)• Veterans and transitioning service members are strongly encouraged to apply𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀• Recruiter phone screen• On-site interview with the team• Skills and aptitude assessment• Offer𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 | 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱Pave Talent and our client are equal opportunity employers.
