Team members are encouraged to contribute to a supportive, learner-centered culture that values individuality and growth.Role Description The Senior Student Counselling Executive is a full-time, on-site role based at Mount Lavinia in the Colombo District. This role involves providing academic and personal guidance to students, including conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, assessing student needs, and developing individualized support plans. The executive will coordinate closely with tutors and activity coordinators to align counselling strategies with teaching methodologies and program activities. Daily responsibilities include tracking student progress, maintaining confidential records, communicating with parents or guardians, and organizing workshops or information sessions on topics such as study skills, stress management, and career pathways. The role also includes contributing to the continuous improvement of counselling processes and participating in center-wide initiatives to enhance learner wellbeing.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in student counselling, academic guidance, and psychosocial support.Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills for working with learners and families.Ability to build trust, show empathy, and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.Experience in educational settings, tutoring centers, or youth-focused programs.Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases and follow up on student progress.Proficiency in basic documentation, reporting, and use of digital tools for record-keeping.Relevant diploma or degree in counselling, psychology, education, or a related field.Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages in Colombo District is an advantage.Commitment to a learner-centered approach and to fostering creativity and self-expression.
