The team carefully supports students through every step of the application, admission, and pre-departure process, offering practical guidance on planning, documentation, and preparation.Role Description The Senior Student Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo, responsible for advising students on higher education options and guiding them through the entire overseas study process. On a day-to-day basis, the counselor meets with prospective students and families, conducts detailed needs assessments, and recommends suitable study destinations, programs, and institutions. The role involves managing application workflows, reviewing and organizing documentation, coordinating with partner institutions, and tracking students’ progress from initial inquiry to enrollment. The Senior Student Counselor also conducts information sessions, maintains accurate records in internal systems, and collaborates with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality student support. In addition, the role includes staying updated on international education trends, visa regulations, and institutional requirements to provide informed and timely advice.Qualifications Strong student advising and counseling skills, including the ability to assess academic goals, explain study options, and support decision-making.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse students and families in a professional and empathetic manner.Solid organizational and administrative skills, including experience handling documentation, managing multiple cases, and maintaining accurate records.Knowledge of international higher education systems, application procedures, and student visa processes, particularly for popular study destinations.Proficiency with office productivity tools and CRM or student management systems to track inquiries, applications, and follow-up actions.Ability to work collaboratively within a team, while independently managing responsibilities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Education, Counseling, Business, or International Relations; advanced qualifications are an advantage.Prior experience in education consultancy, student counseling, admissions, or a related field, preferably in an international education context.High level of integrity, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to providing inclusive, non-discriminatory guidance to all students.
