Senior Sunflower Breeder

We are looking for a Senior Sunflower Breeder to take ownership of an established sunflower breeding program and contribute to its next stage of development for an international seed company with a strong European footprint.This is not a purely technical breeding position. It is an opportunity to join a program developed over approximately 15 years, work with an existing genetic base and experienced breeding team, and directly influence future breeding priorities and genetic progress. The role combines scientific expertise, practical breeding work, team coordination and strategic responsibility.You will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the sunflower breeding program, define breeding priorities, manage projects and trials and contribute to the development of competitive hybrids for Romania, South-Eastern Europe and international markets.The role also represents a genuine succession and leadership opportunity. You will work with an established breeding team and progressively take responsibility for coordinating people, maintaining continuity and introducing new ideas and improved ways of working.The environment is scientific, hands-on and field-oriented. It combines the stability and international perspective of an established seed company with a breeding program where individual expertise, initiative and practical decision-making have visible impact.The profileWe are open both to experienced breeders and to high-potential professionals with approximately 3–5 years or more of practical breeding experience who are ready to take the next step and assume responsibility for coordinating a team.Experience in sunflower breeding is strongly preferred, although relevant profiles from other hybrid-crop breeding programs, particularly maize, may also be considered.Relevant university studies and a strong academic foundation in plant genetics, plant breeding and inheritance are required.The role is based at the breeding station in Lovrin area, Timiș County.
