We are dedicated to providing advanced surgical solutions while delivering an exceptional, highly personalized patient experience.We are seeking an experienced Senior Surgical Coordinator / Surgical Patient Navigator who can build strong relationships with patients and guide them through one of the most important healthcare decisions of their lives.This is not simply a scheduling position. We are looking for an experienced professional who understands the complete surgical journey—from a surgeon’s recommendation through patient education, insurance authorization, medical clearance, scheduling, and surgery.What You’ll DoBuild trusted relationships with patients after surgery has been recommendedPersonally follow up with patients who are considering spine surgeryListen to patients’ concerns and identify barriers preventing them from moving forwardHelp patients navigate scheduling, insurance, work, family, transportation, and other logistical concernsCoordinate the entire surgical process from recommendation through completionWork closely with our spine surgeons, clinical team, patient advocates, insurance team, and surgical facilitiesCoordinate insurance authorization and required documentationArrange preoperative testing, medical clearances, and appointmentsRe-engage patients who have stopped responding to previous outreachEnsure patients with medical questions or concerns are promptly connected with the appropriate clinicianMaintain accurate patient status, communication, barriers, and next steps in our CRM/EHRProvide an exceptional patient experience throughout the surgical journeyWork With Our MD360 AI PlatformAtlantic Spine Center is developing advanced AI-assisted patient engagement technology through MD360.Our AI agents will help with routine outreach, reminders, follow-up, and identification of patients who need additional assistance.The Surgical Coordinator will provide the human expertise and relationship behind this technology.You will work alongside our MD360 AI system to:Prioritize patients who need personal attentionRespond to complex patient situationsIdentify common reasons patients hesitate or become lost to follow-upImprove patient communication workflowsHelp our technology team improve AI-assisted patient engagementEnsure technology enhances—not replaces—the human relationship with our patientsWho We’re Looking ForWe strongly prefer candidates with significant experience in:Spine surgeryNeurosurgeryOrthopedic surgeryPain managementOther high-volume surgical specialtiesIdeal Qualifications3+ years of surgical coordination experience preferredStrong surgical scheduling and patient-navigation experienceExperience with insurance verification and surgical authorizationExcellent telephone and interpersonal communication skillsExceptional follow-up and organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively with patients who may be anxious, hesitant, or uncertainComfortable managing a large surgical patient pipelineExperience working with CRM and EHR systemsComfortable adopting AI and other new healthcare technologiesHighly accountable and results-oriented while remaining patient-centeredAbility to work effectively with physicians, clinical staff, insurance teams, and surgical facilitiesWhat Success Looks LikeSuccess in this role means:Patients receive timely, personalized follow-up after surgery is recommendedPatients understand the next steps in their carePatient questions and concerns are identified quicklyPatients are not lost because of poor communication or lack of follow-upInsurance and authorization issues are addressed efficientlyPatients who need additional physician guidance are identified promptlySurgical scheduling and preparation are organized and efficientEvery patient’s decision and status are clearly documentedPatients consistently receive an excellent experienceOur philosophy is simple:Educate patients.
