Job code: JPC - 6340 Job Role: Senior System AdministratorLocation; Abu dhabiManage, maintain, and secure the IT infrastructure and systems to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the technology that supports the office's mandate coordinating citizen and community services, processing government initiatives, and enabling communication with federal and local authorities.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain servers, networks, operating systems, and data storage systems supporting operationsManage user accounts, access rights, and Active Directory/identity management in line with government data governance and security policiesMonitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime for citizen-facing and internal servicesAdminister email, collaboration platforms, and internal applications used for case management, correspondence, and coordination with federal/local entitiesManage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures for critical systems and citizen dataProvide technical support (Tier 2/3) to staff, troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues, and manage IT helpdesk escalationsMaintain documentation of IT assets, configurations, policies, and proceduresCoordinate with external vendors, telecom providers, and government IT bodies (e.g., TDRA, Abu Dhabi Digital Authority) on infrastructure, licensing, and integration projectsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field3 6 years' experience as a System Administrator, preferably in a government or public sector entityStrong knowledge of Windows Server/Linux administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), networking (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls), and Active DirectoryExperience with backup/DR solutions, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/G42 Cloud), and cybersecurity best practicesFamiliarity with UAE government IT compliance frameworks (e.g., Abu Dhabi Digital Authority policies, NESA standards) is a strong advantageCertifications such as MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Server+/Security+, CCNA, or ITIL are preferredKey CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsHigh attention to security, confidentiality, and data sensitivity (government/citizen data)Ability to work under government protocols and coordinate across federal/local authoritiesGood communication and documentation skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities
