Senior HPC System AdministratorElite Edge Partners is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to support a major national laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Linux and High-Performance Computing (HPC) professional to join a highly skilled team supporting large-scale, advanced computing environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for system administration, installation, integration, upgrades, troubleshooting, security, and ongoing operations of complex HPC systems.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior HPC System Administrator, you will:Install, provision, integrate, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot Linux-based HPC systems in large-scale clustered environments.Administer Linux operating systems, including RHEL, Debian, CentOS, and Fedora.Support all phases of the HPC system lifecycle, including facility integration, system standup, acceptance, production deployment, and ongoing operations.Develop and utilize advanced scripting skills using Shell, Python, Perl, and other automation technologies to improve system administration efficiency.Install and manage system software, filesystems, networks, security components, and related infrastructure.Configure and monitor HPC storage environments using system utilities, command-line tools, and automation scripts.Support and troubleshoot HPC scheduling technologies such as PBS, Moab, and SLURM.Work with parallel filesystems including GPFS and Lustre.Support high-speed HPC interconnect technologies such as InfiniBand, Omni-Path, and Aries.Manage security technologies and components, including LDAP, SSL certificates, and third-party security products.Analyze hardware and software requirements, develop system designs and architectures, and evaluate system functionality and performance.Identify complex technical issues, develop solutions, and test and implement fixes.Collaborate with HPC team members, hardware engineers, facilities personnel, vendors, and external partners to deploy and maintain large-scale computing and storage systems.Work closely with research staff to support specialized requirements, non-standard configurations, and pre-release software within HPC environments.Develop infrastructure and system-management enhancements that improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of advanced computing systems.Take initiative to expand technical knowledge and expertise through hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another relevant discipline plus 5+ years of directly related experience, or 11 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.Must be a U.S. Citizen.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q Clearance.Position is performed onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Albuquerque area.Required Skills & ExperienceExtensive experience as a Linux Systems Administrator, including system installation, integration, image development, patching, upgrades, configuration, and complex problem resolution.Strong experience administering Linux systems within large-scale clustered or HPC environments.Demonstrated ability to analyze hardware and software requirements, develop system architectures, integrate hardware and software components, and evaluate system performance.Strong scripting and automation experience with Shell, Python, Perl, or similar technologies.Experience working independently while also collaborating effectively within a technical team.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively with vendors, engineers, researchers, facilities personnel, and other technical stakeholders.Why Join Elite Edge Partners?At Elite Edge Partners, we connect highly skilled technology professionals with challenging opportunities supporting mission-critical environments.
