Senior Technical Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION • To lead and oversee the end-to-end design of enterprise-scale and mega-project architectures, defining core architecture, data flows, integration patterns, and interfaces across distributed systems, on-premise, and cloud environments. • To work with the Architecture Committee members and other stakeholders to capture, evolve, and define the scope and the high-level requirements. • To fully understand the software solution/product, and distinguish how different business scenarios can be served into the solution/product in order to help implementers, customers, and architecture team. • To fully understand the architecture of the product, the technology, the technical capabilities and limitations, and to be able to offer technical consultancy for the product owner and the implementation team when needed. • To supervise and conduct software solution/product related technical researches for the IoT products. • To act as a tech spoc between the product manegers, implementers, architecture team, Business and the development teams by facilitating the resolutions and processing of feedbacks and reported issues. • Producing end-to-end designs for the software solution/product based on specific business requirements specially for smart IoT products. • Resolving the software solution/product high-level functional issues. • Define software architecture and design standards in High-Level Design (HLD) and oversee adherence in Low-Level Design (LLD) implementations. • Designing the software solution/product sub-systems and components interfaces, integration specifications, and defining architecture patterns for AI-native capabilities, APIs, event-driven services, observability, resiliency, and performance at enterprise scale. • Establishing and maintaining technical decision records, architecture guidelines, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency across mega-project deliverables. • Anticipating and mitigating systemic technical challenges such as latency, bandwidth limitations, scalability bottlenecks, or data-model integrity before they affect production systems. • Scaling connectivity solutions to support large-scale deployments (100,000+ units, locations, or endpoints) while ensuring availability, reliability, and business continuity. • Being responsible for the technical road-map of the software solution/product and ensuring it is always up-to-date. • Designing the software solution/product sub-systems and components interfaces and integration specifications. • Mentoring the software solution/product development team and ensuring that architecture and design standards are followed throughout the development cycle. • Ensuring the software solution/product is reusing the organization reusable components. • Ensuring the software solution/product is designed to be re-used, maintainable and extensible. • Monitors and recommends changes to improve the reliability, scalability, extensibility, security and performance of developed systems. • Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance IoT architecture for the product, encompassing edge devices, connectivity protocols, data ingestion, cloud infrastructure, and integration with enterprise systems. • Provide Analyze and evaluate Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to provide accurate effort estimations and conduct feasibility assessments from both technical and business perspectives, ensuring alignment with product goals and delivery timelines. • Ability and willingness to work on-site in customer environments, providing hands-on technical leadership, conducting workshops, and ensuring seamless delivery and knowledge transfer at client premises for mega-project engagements. SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Master's degree is a plus. • Over 12 years of experience in software development and enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years in a Lead Architect or Principal Architect role on large-scale/mega projects. • Experience in the software development field with proven track record of delivering complex, multi-year programs. • A very good knowledge in designing microservice and cloud-native enterprise solutions/products at scale. • A deep knowledge and experience in microservices, distributed systems, and real-time or near-real-time processing architectures. • A deep knowledge and experience in object-oriented design and programming. • A deep knowledge and experience in business and system architecture principles, architecture patterns, processes, and frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, or similar). • A very good knowledge and experience in Design Patterns and enterprise integration patterns (EIP). • A good knowledge in Applications Architecture, Solution Architecture, and Enterprise Architecture. • A very good knowledge of API Management practices, API Gateway patterns, API governance, and security policies (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, SAML). • A deep knowledge and experience in IoT architecture components: edge devices, gateways, sensors, connectivity protocols (MQTT, AMQP, CoAP, OPC-UA, Modbus), and cloud integration. • Experience designing and scaling IoT/connected solutions to support 100,000+ endpoints or locations. • A good knowledge of documenting software solutions using UML & draw.io tool. • A very good knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile approaches. • SAFe Methodology is a plus. • A deep knowledge of designing mobile solutions and IoT backend systems. • A very good knowledge of database modelling for SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, InfluxDB, Couchbase). • A good knowledge of XML, JSON, FlatBuffer, Protocol Buffers, and data serialization formats. • A good knowledge of Java, Python, Go, Kafka, API gateways, Apache Flink, stream processing frameworks, and cloud-native services. • Good experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, service mesh) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Experience in leading CI/CD pipeline design (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Terraform) and DevSecOps practices. • Proficiency in monitoring, observability, and APM tools (ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar). • Experience with AI/ML integration patterns, edge computing, and data streaming architectures is a plus. • TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture certification is preferred. • Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are an advantage. • Experience in mega-project delivery within industries such as IoT, smart cities, telecommunications, energy, transportation, or government is highly preferred. • Critical thinking & complex problem-solving abilities. • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to convey complex technical concepts to executive leadership and diverse stakeholders. • Strong organizational and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams. • Strategic thinking with ability to balance long-term architecture vision with short-term delivery needs.
