Technical Product Manager – AI & AutomotiveFort Lauderdale, Florida | HybridWe are hiring a Technical Product Manager to join an R&D-led AI team building the next generation of automotive dealership technology. This is not a traditional Product Manager role focused primarily on roadmaps, Jira and delivery coordination. You will sit at the intersection of automotive domain expertise, product and AI engineering, helping transform complex dealership workflows into intelligent, AI-powered experiences. The team is developing a new generation of dealership technology with AI and autonomous operators at the core of the product architecture. The long-term vision is to move away from traditional, highly manual DMS workflows towards intelligent systems capable of understanding context, surfacing information, orchestrating tasks and completing dealership processes autonomously. What you'll be doingWork closely with automotive, product, engineering and AI/R&D teams to understand and map complex dealership and Dealer Management System (DMS) workflows.Identify where AI agents and autonomous operators can simplify, automate or fundamentally redesign existing dealership processes.Translate business and dealership requirements into clear product and technical requirements for AI and engineering teams.Own the product lifecycle from discovery and requirements through prioritisation, roadmap development, delivery, feedback and iteration.Act as a bridge between established automotive/DMS expertise and an R&D-focused AI engineering organisation.Challenge requirements where appropriate, assessing whether proposed solutions are technically feasible, commercially sensible and the right use of AI.Work with engineers to understand technical constraints around LLMs, agents, context, data, system architecture and rapidly evolving AI capabilities.Help take emerging R&D concepts into scalable, customer-facing products.Navigate multiple international teams and stakeholders while maintaining clear ownership of product outcomes. What we're looking forProduct Management, Technical Product Management or closely related experience within the automotive industry.Strong understanding of how US automotive dealerships operate, ideally including hands-on exposure to Dealer Management Systems and dealership workflows.Practical understanding of modern AI products, particularly LLMs, AI agents, agentic systems and autonomous operators.Strong technical literacy. You do not necessarily need to be a former software engineer, but you must be comfortable engaging deeply with engineers and challenging technical decisions.Ability to distinguish between something that can technically be built with AI and something that should be built that way.Experience translating complex operational requirements into technical and product requirements.Strong product fundamentals across discovery, prioritisation, roadmaps, stakeholder management and end-to-end delivery.Comfortable operating in an R&D environment where technology, requirements and product possibilities can change rapidly.High degree of ownership, communication skills and judgement when working across technical and non-technical teams.Particularly relevant backgroundsYou may currently be working as a Technical Product Manager, AI Product Manager, Product Lead or Technical Delivery Lead. We are more interested in your experience and technical understanding than your exact job title.Experience within automotive retail technology, dealership platforms or DMS environments would be particularly valuable. Why this role is differentYou will be helping shape a product that is being built around AI from the ground up, rather than adding AI features to an established application. The underlying R&D work is exploring how autonomous operators and specialised sub-agents can understand and execute the complicated processes traditionally performed manually within dealership systems. This requires a Product Manager who can understand the automotive problem deeply, understand what modern AI can realistically do, and bring those two worlds together.
