Senior Technical Writer — S1000D / IETMPanama City Beach, FL | Hybrid | Full-Time | $100,000–$105,000Technical Systems Integration, Inc. (TSI), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to support U.S. Navy programs at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD).This position is designed for an experienced technical-publications professional with hands-on expertise in S1000D, XML, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), technical publications specifications, and Navy configuration/logistics data. The successful candidate will serve in a senior or lead capacity supporting S1000D IETM development and publishing.Key ResponsibilitiesLead XML-based electronic Technical Manual development, revision, and publishing.Create and maintain S1000D-compliant IETMs using a Common Source Data Base (CSDB) or S1000D content-management platform.Develop and manage S1000D data modules and structured technical content.Manage technical-publication requirements including XML tagging, Data Module Requirements Lists (DMRLs), and illustration control numbering.Manage configuration, alteration, and logistics data within the Navy Model-Based Product Support (MBPS) environment.Work with engineers, logisticians, configuration managers, developers, and system integrators to develop and validate technical documentation.Participate in technical reviews, Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, documentation working groups, and validation/verification activities.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technical-writing personnel.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Seven (7) or more years of experience with XML coding requirements for electronic Technical Manual development and publishing, including experience in a senior, lead, or supervisory role.Recent experience within the last four (4) years using content-management software to create and publish S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).Two (2) or more years of technical-publications experience involving tagging, DMRL development, illustration control numbering, and configuration, alteration, or logistics data.Professional experience working within the Navy Model-Based Product Support (MBPS) database and applying NAVSEA, NAVAIR, or equivalent DoD technical specifications and directives.U.S. citizenship required.Preferred QualificationsCurrent or previously held DoD Secret clearance.Hands-on PTC Arbortext Editor experience; RWS Contenta, CORENA, or comparable S1000D CSDB experience also valued.NAVSEA or NAVAIR technical-publications experience.CMPro, Windchill, or related Navy product-support/configuration-system experience.Technical Manual validation and verification experience.S1000D Practitioner/Specialist or Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) certification.Mine warfare, unmanned maritime, surface warfare, or littoral-mission experience.Security RequirementAn active DoD Secret clearance is preferred but is not required to apply.
