Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Summary:The Senior Technician will play a key role in the set-up, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of technical equipment and systems supporting the resort-wide background music (BGM) system, entertainment operations and events. Responsibilities also include routine inspections, first-line fault diagnosis and technical support to ensure equipment and systems remain safe, reliable and operational.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily operation, monitoring and technical support of the resort-wide BGM system.Carry out routine inspections and operational checks of BGM equipment and other assigned entertainment technical systems.Monitor BGM playback and system performance and identify, troubleshoot and rectify technical faults where possible.Carry out first-line maintenance, servicing and minor repairs to technical equipment and systems.Assist with the set-up, operation, testing and maintenance of technical equipment and systems supporting entertainment operations and events.Assist with testing, commissioning and verification of repaired, replaced or newly installed BGM equipment and systems.Support approved changes to BGM system configurations, schedules and playback requirements as directed.Respond to technical faults and operational issues and escalate matters when requiring specialist or vendor support.Maintain accurate records of faults, maintenance activities, repairs, equipment status and technical works carried out.Assist with the management and tracking of BGM equipment, spare parts and associated inventory.Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors and service providers when carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and rectification works.Ensure all aspects of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and established technical standards are strictly adhered to.Generate reports and assist in other technical duties as assigned.*Equipment and systems may include: BGM playback systems, professional audio equipment, audio processors, amplifiers, loudspeakers, networked audio systems, control systems, associated network infrastructure, staging, lighting, audio-visual, show control and other entertainment technical equipment.Required Qualifications:Diploma / WSQ Equivalent in Audio Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technical Theatre or a related technical discipline.With Diploma / WSQ Equivalent: 2–3 years of related industry experience.Without Diploma / WSQ Equivalent: 4–5 years of related industry experience.Q-SYS Level 1 certification or demonstrated equivalent experience in the operation and troubleshooting of Q-SYS systems is preferred.Working knowledge of professional audio systems, audio signal flow, networked audio and associated technical equipment.General knowledge and experience of entertainment technical equipment and systems.Strong knowledge of industry standards and safety protocols.Skills / Attributes:Technical skills and knowledge across entertainment technical equipment and systems, with particular competency in professional audio and BGM systems.Working knowledge of Q-SYS operation, monitoring, basic configuration and first-line fault diagnosis.Understanding of professional audio signal flow, audio processing, networked audio and system control.Good general technical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.Ability to learn and support multiple technical systems and disciplines based on operational requirements.Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary technical team.Good attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate technical and maintenance records.Able to perform shift work, including weekends and Public Holidays.
