Working within a highly collaborative R&D environment, you will contribute to the development of next-generation therapies that have the potential to deliver life-changing outcomes for patients worldwide.The RoleWe are currently recruiting a Senior Research Associate to support a leading gene therapy organisation based in the Amsterdam region.As part of the Clinical Bioanalytics team, you will play a key role in supporting clinical development programs through the development, qualification, validation, and implementation of bio-analytical methods used to assess both product efficacy and safety. The position has a strong focus on pharmacodynamic (PD) and biomarker assays and offers the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Clinical Development, Non-Clinical Development, and Disease Biology. This is an assignment running until the end of 2026.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, qualify, validate, and implement bio-analytical methods supporting biomarker, immunogenicity, and viral shedding assessments.Perform hands-on laboratory work related to assay development and bio-analytical testing.Plan, execute, analyse, and report analytical activities to ensure accurate and efficient results.Troubleshoot technical, analytical, and assay-performance challenges.Document and report bioanalytical data in accordance with GLP requirements.Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including SOPs, qualification protocols, development reports, and validation documentation.Support laboratory operations, equipment oversight, and inventory management.Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding laboratory management activities.Collaborate closely with scientists and senior management to support clinical development objectives.Your ProfileBachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience within biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, or gene therapy.Experience and knowledge in relation to PD/biomarker assays such as Enzymatic activity assays, ELISA, MSD, and cutting-edge technology immunoassay platforms such as SMC, Simoa and Immuno-PCR is required.Experience and knowledge in relation to cell-based assays, such as neutralisation assays, (primary) cell-culturing and ELISPOT is preferred.Experience and knowledge in relation to molecular bio-analytical methods, including quantitative polymerase chain reaction-based analysis (qPCR), digital PCR and (RT)qPCR) is preferred.Experience with biospecimen analysis and laboratory sample management is beneficial.Exposure to Biosafety Level II (BSL-II) laboratory environments is preferred.Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and regulatory requirements.Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.What’s on Offer?The opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge gene therapy programs with real patient impact.Salary starting from €4,300 gross per month, depending on experience and expertise.Exposure to advanced bioanalytical technologies and innovative research environments.A collaborative, international, and science-driven workplace.Contract assignment until the end of 2026.
