Senior Technician

📍 Barcelona, Spain📅 Permanent | Yacht Service & Marine EngineeringAre you an experienced Marine Technician / Marine Engineer with a strong hands-on background across steering, propulsion, mechanical and plumbing systems?We are supporting an established international luxury yacht organisation looking to strengthen its service team in Barcelona.This is a practical, hands-on position working across the maintenance, repair and refit of yachts up to 90ft, covering a broad mix of mechanical and marine engineering systems.What you will work onYou will support service and refit projects across a range of high-quality yachts, carrying out maintenance, repairs, upgrades and technical troubleshooting.The work will include:

• Marine steering systems
• Rudders and rudder bearings
• Propeller shafts and propellers
• Cutlass bearings, shaft seals and thrust bearings
• Engine room refits and engine replacements
• Marine engine servicing
• Seacocks and marine pumps
• Plumbing and onboard mechanical systems
• General mechanical maintenance and refit workProjects will vary considerably, making this a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving and working across different onboard systems.What you will do
• Service and repair marine steering systems
• Drop and reinstall rudders and replace rudder bearings
• Carry out propulsion system maintenance and repair
• Remove and service propeller shafts and propellers
• Replace cutlass bearings, shaft seals, thrust bearings and flexible bearings
• Support engine room overhauls and engine replacements
• Carry out basic marine engine servicing
• Service and replace seacocks and marine pumps
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and refit activities
• Produce clear technical reports
• Organise your own workload and work to agreed schedules
• Work closely with the wider service and technical teamWhat we are looking for
• Strong professional experience within marine engineering or yacht service
• Hands-on experience with steering, propulsion, mechanical and plumbing systems
• Experience servicing and repairing yachts, boats or marine vessels
• Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Good attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
• Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish
• Reliable, proactive and professional approachExperience with metal fabrication, machining or GRP repairs would be highly beneficial.What is on offer
