Senior Thermal Solutions Engineer (Data Center focused)Fully RemoteWe design and manufacture system-level thermal solutions, partnering with customers for over 20 years across aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, and government R&D sectors.Our technologies support mission-critical applications ranging from spacecraft thermal management to precise temperature control in surgical environments, operating across extreme conditions from -150°C to 1,100°C.As a Data Center Thermal Solutions Engineer, you will drive the design, analysis, prototyping, and validation of thermal systems for data center environments. This role involves close collaboration with manufacturing, marketing, and customer engineering teams to deliver innovative cooling solutions that meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop thermal management solutions - such as cold plates, heat exchangers, coolant distribution units (CDUs), and air-to-liquid systems - from concept through productionPerform thermal, fluid, and structural simulations (CFD/FEA) to optimize system performance and reliabilityConduct hands-on prototyping, testing, and validation under real-world operating conditionsTranslate customer needs into engineering requirements and scalable product architecturesManage customer engagement through regular status updates and overall project coordinationPartner with sales and marketing to support proposals and create technical content that drives business growthProduce detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, and supporting engineering documentation (e.g., test reports, work instructions, O&M manuals)Support product lifecycle phases, including EVT, DVT, and new product introductions (NPI)Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field5+ years of experience in thermal systems development, ideally within Data Center cooling applicationsExperience with pumped single-phase systems + pumped two-phase experience (not required but a huge bonus)Strong foundation in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamicsExperience with CFD tools (e.g., Ansys Fluent, Autodesk CFD, or similar)Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with two-phase cooling technologies (e.g., refrigerant systems, heat pipes, vapor chambers)Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE TC 9.9, ASHRAE 90.4, and OCP guidelinesExperience with data center infrastructure and liquid cooling deploymentsKnowledge of environmental regulations related to refrigerant use in cooling systems
