Our compliance team combines data, technology, and sound judgment to manage financial crime risks in complex, high-volume transaction environments.The RoleWe are looking for a Senior Transaction Monitoring Specialist based in Mainland China. You will investigate transaction monitoring alerts, assess potentially suspicious activity, and produce clear, well-supported case reports in Chinese.This is a hands-on senior specialist role rather than a purely process-driven position. Most of your time will focus on alert investigation, while your frontline insights will also help improve monitoring rules, scenarios, and models.What You'll Do· Investigate alerts generated by internal monitoring models and external tools, using customer information, transaction patterns, fund flows, and relevant risk indicators.· Identify suspicious or unusual transaction activity and make sound case closure or escalation decisions.· Produce clear, accurate, and well-structured investigation reports in Chinese.· Review alert outcomes and recurring case patterns to identify monitoring gaps and opportunities to reduce false positives.· Contribute to the design, testing, calibration, and optimization of transaction monitoring rules, scenarios, thresholds, and models.· Maintain investigation standards, operating procedures, and reporting practices.· Partner with Compliance, Risk, Product, Data, and Technology teams to improve monitoring workflows and system capabilities.· Adopt internal systems and AI-enabled tools quickly to improve investigation quality and efficiency.What We're Looking ForMust-haves· A bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Finance, Law, Computer Science, Information Security, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.· At least three years of hands-on experience in transaction monitoring, alert investigation, AML investigations, or a closely related financial crime risk function.· Proven ability to independently review alerts, assess transaction logic and risk indicators, and make defensible investigation decisions.· Practical experience contributing to transaction monitoring rules, scenarios, models, thresholds, testing, validation, or alert strategy improvements.· Strong written Chinese, with the ability to produce clear investigation reports; sufficient written English to understand system information, policies, and case materials.· Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, learning agility, and the ability to accommodate shift arrangements.Strong-to-haves· Experience within a bank, payment institution, securities firm, fintech platform, digital asset business, or large-scale risk and compliance function.· Familiarity with KYC/AML controls, customer risk rating, suspicious transaction identification, transaction monitoring platforms, or data analysis tools.· CAMS or another relevant AML, compliance, or risk management certification; experience using AI-enabled investigation tools is also valued.A Note from the Hiring ManagerThis is not a purely procedural review role or a people-management position.
